This looks powerfull

Whoah...all that pink, I thought this was a Dark Eldar card, LOL! Also, with essentially EVERY OTHER UNIT at the planet as a bodyguard, this guy looks nice.

Extremely powerful, especially when coupled with a Land Raider. Loading this guy up with an Ion Rifle from Tau allies is particularly lethal.

I really love the synergy this has with all of the Space Marine's ability to sneak units into combat. I had a very effective round of combat earlier tonight, with an Honored Librarian at a planet with two Void Pirates. After having to squander two attacks dealing with the pirates, I was able to keep the battle going for quite a while by ambushing in an Eager Recruit and playing a Drop Pod Assault. Just when it seemed like my Librarian was undefended, someone new would jump in, swing at the enemy, and they would be forced to attack this new, exhausted enemy.

This guy is a serious threat when he has an Ion Rifle attached. Yikes.

Hands down best 3 drop Space Marine that can walk out of your Drop Pod.

Twisted laboratory and AoE can fix this. A great card with virtually downside (unless he's alone).

4/5

It is a great card, but there are more answers than you might think, especially as the meta grows.

Twisted Lab and AoE, for sure, though generating enough damage that it doesn't shield its way past AoE is problematic. We will shortly have the opportunity for AoE Gun Drones attachment with Armourbane, which will help.

Also, moved damage from Ku'gath  and placed damage from Fenrisian Wolves works well. Also, direct damage (mostly out of Chaos, but some other factions) such as Dire Mutation, Tzeentch's Firestorm. (and cards like Ork Kannon, Repulsor Impact Field, though the latter is tricky as you have to survive the hit to use the reaction).

There are also softer counters that remove it as a threat for a while, such as routing from Archon's Terror or Inq Fortress, exhausting effects like Eldorath.

Finally don't forget that Battle Abilities can be useful in dealing with this, for example routing it or giving it a damage.

As the meta evolves, a card like this grows easier to answer. Its still 5/5, but definitely more answers emerge.

Librarian. When I see Librarian I think of the little old lady in the library saying Shuush when I talk

I read more comments about this card being less reliable in the current meta. Is it losing its shine?

That's undeniable, as there are a lot more ways to deal with him now. Doesn't mean he's not an auto-include (or very close to one) anymore in SM decks, but you can't just expect to Drop Pod a Librarian and automatically win the battle.

Stats and ability synergy is off the charts.
