Fantastic card with no real downsides for tokens (Packmaster Kith). Because of that 5/5.

Fuel for choke. If only we could play it in 3x...

5/5

This is probably a dumb question but does the unit you sacrifice have to be one of your units? I would assume so but it doesn't exactly specify. It just says "sacrifice a unit to discard..."

Not dumb at all, you just have to dig a little to find the ruling. :P Anything that comes before the word "to" is considered to be an additional cost and costs are always paid using cards and resources you control.

Okay, second dumb question...  Does the "unit" have to be in play or can in be from your hand..?

You can't sacrifice a unit that is not in play.  When it's not in play, it's not a unit, and also not under your control.

More importantly, the definition of sacrifice specifies "in play":

When a player is instructed to sacrifice a card, he must choose and discard a card in play that he controls and that matches the requirements of the sacrifice.

Win more. Only good when opponent already has few cards.

2/5 (I review signature cards comparing to other signature cards)

Have you, by any chance, played a few games with Kith? Or with any other cards you "review"?

IMHO you havent, otherwise you wouldnt write what you did.

Obviously you only play this card if you have enough units in play. If you have few, it's a shield.

Then, you seem to miss the "draw 2 cards" which is pretty strong in combination with "discard 1 card from op". So you have to pay 2R+1unit for 2C+1discard...and if I am not wrong I this the equivalence of 1C is 1.5R so you get 3R+1discard for 2R+1unit. A fair trade in my eyes.

Also you seem to miss a very central point: Kith is choke. If you aint choking (and dont have any "I will kill your warlord this round and steamroll you anyway" combo on hand) you are faring bad and will probably lose.
