Unique, relic, Black Templar only, army unit only. Could this be the most 'restricted' card in the game? Not quite sure of the point of it being a relic and unique - either way you can only have one out at a time - but perhaps it's also to give it maximum protection from anything but the best board removal.
Well, relic also stops you having other relics out. Though as Ancient Crozius Arcanum isn't a relic, I guess that's less significant.
What we might certainly expect, however, is that Mavros will be less likely to run Iron Halo than other SM warlords.
This attachment, while offering a nice two-shield discard option, is likely meant specifically (or at least ideally) for that single card The Emperor's Champion out of Chaplain Mavros' signature squad. (Mavros' signature attachment in turn can be put on any attachment- or wargear-ready unit under one's control.)
The Relic-trade we can probably attribute to the designers adhering to the lore.
It will be exciting to see which Black Templar units we will get durring the cycle: the ability of the Neophyte Apprentice surely points to at least one four-cost Templar army unit that has yet to be revealed..
I think The Black Sword also looks quite strong with Vow of Honor.
This on the Emperor's Champion is an expensive but exciting prospect.
This blade is meant for Emperor Champion (due to his ability + fluff), but I'm planing to put 3 copies into my Mavros deck and test it with cheaper (cost 2 up to 3) units. With Righteous Initiate you get unit which hit twice as hard as Salamander Termintor, prevent first damage and cost 4. 3 copies will allow me to give the blade to new unit after the one it's attached to die + 2 shields are always welcome (I'm playing with 11x 2 shields cards in my Cato and it works fine).
It's not Wargear so you can put it on a Sword Brethren Dreadnought. Just because.
Dreadnought has one hand. Might look like a letter opener, but it could work.
can anybody confirm if i can use crushing blow from damage dealt by this sword?
