The "gain 1 or more resource" triggering condition is created whenever the number of resources in your pool increases - no matter where that resource came from.

Rules question reference:
Raid the opponent and Ready the army then.

Also, the "steal your lunch money" planet.

I think this card is great. My brother played two for a total of 3 resources, swung with both in the fight, played raid, struck again with both, ambushed in salain's sig squad, struck with these again. All for probably 4 resources not counting thing resource he stole from me.
