So, when this card came out we didn't think much of it, as it was in a meta where it'd be very hard to get any sort of valuable exchange out of this.

However, now Elites are a thing, has this card raised in value?

I think this card was always a thing, for a deck that was command light, low to the ground and could catch the opponent unawares. The problem is, once the opponent see's one, he will play around the other, but for the deck to work you have to have the one so its a three of that you can only play one of in a game. And since nids have no benefit from discard.....

Yeah, I got to thinking about this card as well, but the best use I can see is when Eldorath puts something at 1, a Wildrider Squad at 2 and a Wildrider Vyper at 3.  You are frothing at the mouth to play this, and then he Nullifiies it.  Good times.

I feel like it's more possible to play Consumption and get value from it, but it's still so ridiculously overcosted/restricted that it's going to be hard for it to perform predictably. I really don't understand why Consumption costs 4 compared to the other board wipes, when it already is going to hit you negatively, too (pretty rare to play this when all of your forces are at HQ, methinks). Plus it's a Deploy Action for a faction that arguably has the worst deploy stall in the game, and I usually end up tossing in a few more No Mercy copies instead. Plus the really elite heavy decks are only paying 3-4 per elite anyway, so you really need to nail more than one (or off a few command units at the same time).

On the plus side, for decks where running Consumption already made sense, it has at least gotten a little more likely to benefit you.
