Clearly there to set up combos with Honor Blade, Aun'shi Sanctum and Kau'yon Strike. Because its a combo card, I doubt its consistency for that. What do we think?

As a 0 cost Action the extra ATK only contributes to more power for Aun'Shi and Kauyon Strike.

It does not need other pieces to be really good, but when other pieces are combined it becomes quite insane.

5/5

PS the Ethereal Trait also is very relevant in the future once we have Voir'La Warrior Cadre available.

I'll never complain against free events. In the most simple of scenarios, use it on Aun'Shi to destroy that 3HP unit that absolutely, positively must die.

I know its not the best use but this card can let you stall in deployment if you want to.

0 cost events are one of my favourite things. With armourbane even 1 extra attack is very powerful. That's before we consider combos mentioned by Asklepios - and that Kau'yon strike one in particular is really good.

People like Caatachan Outpost a lot - this is not telegraphed and given the target may get to strike several times (in more than 1 combat if at Plannum or with KS), it feels like a solid 5/5 to me.

With time passing, am agreeing with this. Its main function seems to be the surprise +1 attack. The Ethereal trait is justa funky bonus. 5/5

I feel like its a dead card when you draw this, one card is not worth the +1 attack, but i guess you could see it as the same value as crushing blow with a little bonus.

Because the +1 is until the end of the phase, part of the true utility of this card is its ability to combo with the Shrine or Kauyon Strike.

A signature card that is only useful when other pieces are present sounds mediocre to me :(

Eh, try it.

The nature of the Aun'shi deck is such that there's way too many 1 attack Tau units floating about. The difference between 1 Armourbane and 2 Armourbane is significant, and worth a card.

It is like Crushing Blow, in that we're looking at damage that can't easily be countered, and has the edge over that card in that the original damage can be shielded to prevent a Crushing Blow being played, or to diminish its effect, whereas in practice you pretty much always get a full Armourbane attack in combats that matter out of Aun'shi.

Getting to Kau'yon powerful cards around opens up alot of opportunities for Tau, it will be interesting to see if those will allow for a strong warlord-hunting deck.
