Like any card that gives +x str for x characters for x cost cards, i think this is way too powerful (especialy in the late game where you may have fewer characters to drop on the table per turn)

So...5 stars in my lani deck-probably an auto include... but balanced? Good for the meta? I'm not so sure...
I have a question:

so, for example, if i have 2 characters, can i pay 3 gold to give to those 2 characters +3 STR? or i just could pay 2 gold and give them +2 STR because i just have 2 characters?

thanks :D

I think this is similar to how The Hatchlings' Feast (ASitD) has to have 3 valid targets, this event must have X valid targets. So if you pay 3 gold, you must have 3 valid targets.
It is nothing like Hatchling's Feast (or the much more similar Naval Escort (ASitD) for that matter). Those cards use the word "choose", and that makes a world of difference. Only abilities that use the word "choose" have targets. Targets are chosen during the initiation of an effect, and if not all targets can be chosen, the effect cannot initiate. But Lion's Cunning has no targets. It only has a cost, and an effect. Since you always resolve effects as much as possible if you can't resolve them fully, I would say that you can indeed pay 5 gold to give your 2 characters +5STR each. But I'll ask on the FFG rules board to see what ktom has to say about it.

That is a good point. Both those examples even setup the chosen characters at the beginning of the effect. You are likely correct.
but the lion's cunning does not use the word "choose" D: on the contrary it mention the same number ("X") for all effects D:
