If the defending player drop all cards into edge, Dash gain 0 [Blast Damage]?

Yes - the Dark Side player can easily deny him this. But, hey, you made them dump all their cards soooo....yay? Also, notice there are two copies of Holding All the Cards in his pod so you can hopefully make them draw a few during the engagement. And there's the Shifty Lookout who might help them at least be considered to have 1 card in hand for Dash.

Just to clarify - if I attack with Dash and one other unit, and have Edge of Darkness Lando out, can I trigger Lando after the other unit's focused to strike to make Dash a lone attacker and switch on his ability?

Or similarly without Lando, say my opponent kills the other unit attacking alongside Dash with his own strikes, does that switch Dash on?

I guess the main question being: is this just a state-based effect triggered off Dash at any time being a lone participating character, or does it only trigger at the time of declaring the attack?

Constant effect. Therefore, if Dash ends up alone for any reason, he will gain the blast.
