I think this is very strong with the ork that ready's cards and standard bearer look out opponent
wish I could have put this in zarathur but, regardless, this is a nice card for any ork deck, think it could work nicely in gorzod with the health boosts from his sig support and a mork heap
Typo in the description - I assume the card is correct saying 3 damage?
I prefer the 4 in the description.
Somewhat interesting synergy with Goes Fasta cards. Specifically a Rickety Warbuggy alone on a planet with the Bomba but without initiative. In fact I really wish the flying triggered off of goes fasta instead of being ready.
What's strong about this card is that units ready at end of combat round before they even get a choice to retreat. Hence, the 3 indirect damage is surely going to hurt as long as we keep him alive. He just goes bonkers with sneekaz and bearer.
Also worth noting that this ability effectively makes the unit partially resistant to Suppressive Fire and Mind War and other exhausting effects. Even if it doesn't get to attack, it'll still get to dish out its 3 indirect damage at the end of the combat round.
Interesting way of putting it.
I looked at the card and made the opposite conclusion: the fact that it loses flying when exhausted makes it extra-vulnerable to suppressive fire and mind war, as that card's effect is not only denying its attack value, its also denying its keyword.
It depends on how long it survives, but it certainly punishes the opponent for not attacking it. Forcing hits on an exhausted unit can be a benefit in itself at times
With Backlash and a lot of Orc 2 shielders, I don't see why it won't survive at all. 5HP is hard to put down. No need to worry about suppressive, mindwar and terror if you have 3x backlash in deck
I looked up the description of the Blitza-Bommer in the Lexicanum yesterday and I realised this is the thematic homerun of the cycle: dives in when releasing its bombs (loses flying, big burst of attack) then it clears up the remaining enemies with anti-infantry weapons (3 indirect damage when readying, which often ends up killing the remaining small units). Would've been perfect with a 4 attack value, but still, fluffy as hell!
Friendly reminder. Mind War doesn't target elites
