So I have played a few games over the past couple months with a Martel player using this. I was actually not really familiar with it when it first got played on me. Seems like all the talk about Martel's "OP", common, and/or Restricted cards are all about Red Vengeance, Prince's Plans, Game of Cyvasse, He Calls it Thinking, etc. But WOW, this card has pummeled me on a few occasions. Do other metas see this a lot? Granted, I have a small meta and non-competetive for the most part and there aren't a lot of Martel decks. Just wondering how others would "rate" this compared to other Martel events, and see how common it is in the "wider" GoT scene.

I suspect this card doesn't get as much play because it's so "old". A lot of people have only started playing in the last year or so and the Kings Landing cycle is several years old at this point. Regardless, the condition to activate is pretty low and the effect is massive. Not only do you prevent additional challenges, if you go next, you can have up to three unopposed challenges yourself.
Well I have started playing this a lot more ever since people started to use Manning the City Walls (CD). I think why you don't see it as often is that people usually don't run a revenge Martell that can lose challenges.

i dont think ive ever run a Martell deck without at least 2 of these, and its pretty much auto include in a melee build

In Melee it is so good because even if they attack with a weak character, their title bonus still applies (provided it is the right challenge naturally). It makes people very nervous on thier Power of Faith turns!
Funny - after me initially wondering if this card was widely used, 2Camps1Chump dedicates a whole episode to it! (Episode 80, FYI)

So, this is something that came up that we weren't sure about i our group last night. If you play Vuiper's Rage, and later a player puts a character into play with another effect (the Baretheon card that lets you go drag an army into play) is that card also considered to have icons blanked? I argued that it was global effect until the end of the round, but others weren't so convinced. Does anyone have a ruling or a rulebook reference on this one?

Check the comments section. Short answer - characters that come into play after playing TVR also lose every icon.
