Does this mean that the units participating are focused? Or is that a part of the resolution?

It says without FURTHER resolution. So the battle ends immediately after you lose an edge battle and you do nothing else further, the engagement is over, all units would be unfocused. One thing to note however, the engagement still took place and therefore you could not engage the same objective again by normal means. This is a powerful event with many great uses.

I like the shenanigans nature of this. It doesn't stipulate that you have to have someone in the engagement thus its great vs aggro DS decks that want to finish objectives off, you lose edge automatically in that instants. As long as you have the resource it can save your skin especially if its that game ending turn and they need to take an objective down.

What is going on in the art for this card?

The headhunter looks to be caught in a net of some sort. Maybe it is a Conner Net?

thats exactly what it is.  You can even see the device in both cards.  Look closely behind the ship in the connor net card and you can see the same device spitting out web material in both cards.

also, here is the back ground too, i found it to be interesting.

Its funny how Niles Ferrier is mentioned as using this a lot, yet, its in landos set.

We still resolve fate cards, right? For edge battles, the last step is to count force icons which should be when a winner is determined.

Also, can this be played if LS defender lets the engagement go unopposed?

Yes, you certainly have to resolve fate cards before determining the winner of the edge battle.  Some of them affect the outcome of the edge battle, like supporting fire, twist of fate, prince's scheme.

I don't see why not.  You still have an edge battle even if only 1 player is participating in the engagement.
