She sounds very powerful and the most fun warlord of the core set.
When I first looked at Conquest the Space Marines had caught my attention but as I continue to look at this faction the Tau are starting to win me over.
Come Zilvake. Learn the ways of the greater good with me. If not, a Fire Warrior Strike team is going to come down and devastate your resource production but we mean all the best. Really. lol
Solid ability, strong and efficient signature cards. A lot of recursion which should be considered a resource in it's own right. One of the strongest Warlords, up there with Cato. 5/5
I find Shadowsun quite disappointing. While her ability is strong, it constrains you to relatively limited lines of play. Her signature squad isn't amazing either.
I would not say you are limited to constrains of play but I definitely think that she is a long game warlord. You build your command struggle base further down the line and when your units are beefy with attachments and backup, you take the fight to them.
At least that is how I have had the most success with her. I think she is the most fun and interactive of the warlords.
Can this play Gun Drone from the hand and from the discard pile?
The rules forum is your friend. Answer is here:

Even a single Stealth Cadre turns her into a 3/9, enough to stomp over pretty much all the other Warlords if you manage to get initiative. She's really solid! I think her ability is deceptively powerful; with careful planning, you should be getting 1 or 2 free resources out of her ability every turn, plus the surprise factor of those Ion Rifles dropping in from orbit. As pointed out below, SSC can only attach to an ARMY unit, not a Warlord (this has caught my friend and me out a few times so far, I think we had Mobility on the Eldar warlord at one point too).
Remember, the Cadre's text says attach to a non-vehicle *army* unit. Warlords are not army units, but Warlord units (and unique units).
Great Warlord. Solid 4.5/5 in my opinion. Great ability, great Army, incredible Attachment, mediocre Event and great Support.
Nothing to add. Except: the event is a little more than mediocre, can be creatively used to harmonize command phase.
5/5
Remember Squadron Redeployment can target your opponent's guy with an attachment. It's a poor man's Archon's Terror in the right situation, but then again in the right situation that can be devastating to the opponent, LOL!
No, it can't be used on enemy unit. Read instruction before playing.
LOL! It doesn't say exhaust a unit you control with an attachment, just a unit with an attachment.
That's because the exhaust is part of the cost of playing the card. You can't pay costs with the opponent's units.
VeeTek is correct.
see p5 of RRG: "Costs: Paying" and p5 "The word 'to'".
This isn't intuitive to all of course, so no blame for missing this.
Hmmm...interesting.
Is this because it is phrased "Exhaust XXX to move XXX" and thus "to" is the indicator of it being a cost? I have to say, this is quite counter-intuitive. But I appreciate you explaining it rather than telling me to "read instruction before playing" - heh heh.
Can she take any attachment from the discard pile or is it only the Stealth Cadres?
Thought the text on the card was pretty clear. It can be any TAU attachment with a cost of 2 or lower, OR a Cadre.
I adore Shadowsun.
If you are lucky enough to get the Command-Link Drone via your Earth Caste Technicians (or even your opening hand!), she really does come in to her own. Recent support like "For the Tau'va" is really nice and has revitalised this old Core-Set favourite!
Problem is that the commitment is very obvious the first turns.
