Question: The text says it may come into play as an attachment. Does that mean that a Tau player could use the Ambush Platform to lower the deploy cost as well?

Very solid signature Army card. 4/5.

I really love this squad, one of my surprise standouts from the core set. One question though: why the hell can't PILOTS go onto vehicles?

They're battlesuit pilots, not vehicle ones.

Still doesn't make too much sense thematically to me. The Crisis Battle Guard and VX888 Broadside are battlesuits, but are already traited 'pilot'. So this card represents pilots, but more often than not they're going to be attached to another 'humanoid' unit. And apparently being a battlesuit pilot means you can't interact with a tank in any way?

It feels more like they playtested it in design and had to add the 'non-vehicle' for some element of balance. I don't know the 40k lore for these guys, but for my taste it feels like the Stealth Cadre themselves should be traited 'battlesuit', which makes a bit more sense for any unit other than vehicles being able to climb into them.

The pilot keyword is for the Tau fire warrior inside the suit. Stealth suits in particular use close range, high power weaponry and stealth technology to ambush their targets. The theme here is that the unit it is attached to has a stealth suit lurking around it to surprise the enemy when this "weak" target suddenly is a lot stronger than they initially anticipated. The reason for non-vehicle is simply that the pilot is already piloting the suit, even if the stealth suit is more akin to power armor than it is a vehicle.

This card combined with shadowsun ability and recursion is so strong. I love it.
