This card has too many downsides to really impress me. While it can certainly be useful in some situations, I find myself using it for its shield much more than its card text. If this weren't in the signature squad, I probably wouldn't run it.

The tau have the best ability to gear up an extremely eliete unit that becomes the fire magnet. I disagree with kingsley about the usefulness. I believe this card will actually win games!!!

They have so many units that can redeploy across the board and being able to move more units during the combat phase FOR 0 COST!!!!!!

yes please

True to form I think I'm clocking in somewhere between the two of you. This card is made difficult to use, however, it's more likely that you're going to want to move a unit with attachments than vice versa. Also, if you have the Command Link Drone out all you have to do is pay one resource to move it to any other unit at any other planet (even to a vehicle, as it isn't wargear). The unexhausted thing can be a problem, but not a deal breaker. You do get to the planet exhausted though, so you need to time it carefully. If you plan to use it just before the last exchange of blows in a round you should minimize it being a target before it becomes unexhausted again, unless you don't really care about it swinging like a FW elite or Land Raider.

Personally not a huge fan of this card since it also requires you to exhaust the target Army unit with an Attachment.

In my book to many criteria to be met in order to be really good/flexible enough for my liking. 3/5.

Can I use this card on an enemy troop/warlord?

Enemy army unit yes, warlord no.

And obviously, they must have an attachment.

Corrected. My bad.

You can't. Exhausting is part of the cost of the ability, and you can't pay costs with your opponent's cards.

This + experimental devilfish = un-exaust?

This + experimental devilfish = un-exaust?

No, because commit =/= move. There's some pretty picky stuff about wording throughout.

Yeah, above poster is right.

All commitment is movement, but not all movement is commitment.

You can't. Exhausting is part of the cost of the ability, and you can't pay costs with your opponent's cards.

Anyone have an official ruling on this? I can't get the forum search to work on this site right now.

I tried to play this in on an opponents card during a game tonight and was told the same thing. Makes sense really as it would be a bit OP for 0 cost

Anyone have an official ruling on this? I can't get the forum search to work on this site right now.

There's no official ruling on this because it is addressed directly in the RRG:

p. 5, Costs:Paying:

"Some abilities have a cost described in the ability text that must be paid in order to use the ability. An opponent’s game elements may not be used to pay a cost."

That's about as clear as it's going to get. You can't pay your costs with an opponent's stuff.

If you need to confirm that exhausting the unit is indeed a cost of the effect, that's in the RRG, p. 5, Costs:The word 'To':

"Many card abilities are presented in a 'do X to do Y' construct. In such a construct, the 'do X' aspect (preceding the word 'to') is considered a cost, and the 'do Y' aspect (following the word 'to') is considered an effect."
