Decent-ish Warlord ability, with lacking Signature cards. Starbane's Council is a average signature card at it's best (it's a little better then non-signature cards), Alaitoc Shrine is okay, foresight is so so due to it's effect, but lacking due to it's low shield count, mobility is good. All in all, not that impressive, a little better then the Dark Eldar. Rating 3/5

I'd rate the signature squad as a little better than that, as the condition isn't that hard to meet for the Council so they're almost always 3 for 1/5/3, which is decent. Shrine and Foresight aren't great either, Mobility is excellent.

The weakest link here though is Starbane only having 1 attack, which means even with an exhaust he finds it hard to carry battles. Its very much a finesse play with his exhaust ability, useful though it is and often just compensates for his lower attack.

If I play with Starsbane against Blackmane, what happens when I have the initiative and we both deploy to the same planet? First I exhaust a unit, it is clear. Can I play Foresight immediately as a reaction to move to another planet, before Blackmane deals the 2 damage, or not?

Currently feel this Warlord is underrated by some. In my opinion his ability is one of the best in the game. His signature Army, Attachment, Event and Support cards are all great. 5/5 for me.

I think the only reason why this card has to grow on people has to do more with the Eldar cards in the core set. With more combat able Eldar early drops (who will be comming) this Warlord becomes more and more dangerous.

Solid agree.

5/5

Starbane's reaction is one of the most powerful effects in the game - he is relevant in winning command struggles AND in stopping attacks and therefore winning battles. Add to that the fact that his signature unit cares about the exhausted/ready disposition and he is a powerhouse with one of his council. He's a force to be reckoned with with other effects from Eldar like Nullify and he will be for quite some time. Exhausting one of their big units might even encourage them to retreat...thus opening themselves up for the other Eldar big trick - Doom.

With all the eldar synergies, this is the top warlord.

5/5 (I review signature cards compared to other signature cards.)
