Would I play a unit with no hammers but cost 2 resources for a 2-2 body that said "When you deploy this unit, deal 2 damage to an enemy army unit at the same planet and draw a card"? I think I would. That's essentially what you're getting as long as you choose to forego the benefit of their command icon (and avoid paying 3 instead), so I'm thinking this will prove to be a pretty potent signature unit.
its actually even better than that, as with the support it can become a repeatable affect
After having played against this deck, the simple threat of these guys hidden on the opposite side of cards was enough to make me think long and hard about deploying my warlord or powerful units.
Remember though that its reaction can only target army units
