This card for Baharroth is basicly a Catachan Outpost that costs 1 less. Which might sound avarage but acutally is a huge bonus considering it's low cost.
5/5
5/5 - Aside from the Sig Squad, there are 2 1/2 units in Eldar alone (1 in DE, 2 in Tau) that can benefit from this... and they're all Vehicles (meaning: targets eligible for Starcannon). Baharroth and his gang might do a lot of jumping around, but once they decide to attack their enemy - they punch hard. And this only helps with that.
Two and a half? Surely you mean four? Baharroth (technically not in the signature squad), Soaring Falcon, Vectored Vyper Squad, Wildrider Squadron.
Though yes, I'm being Mr. Pointless Pedant here...
More usefully, there's also an edge case trick to play with Tense Negotiations and Plannum. Have only pulled it off once so far, but the elegance of the play was appreciated by opponent, and by his newly bloodied warlord.
Not a bad ability, but not that strong of a support location overall. Works with his sig squad, for sure, but they are so fragile...
3/5
To be fair, I think VVS doesn't make it into any deck I can think of, and Soaring Falcon is only a maybe.
Soaring Falcon has 2 command icons and its 5 HP means it takes time for an opponent to get rid of it. I think it finds a place in a Baharroth deck.
Its a tough call, as even though it has mobile its yet another 2 command icon for 3 cost, and the meta is flooded with cards that offer command on a 1 cost : 1command ratio. Also, it can't carry wargear, which makes it a poorer match for Tau.
I've personally left it out at present, but these things are hard to judge. My instinct says that it has a place in a Baha/ Tau deck that wants to run DFA, for the extra target for that card. I'd say there's not a place for it in a Baha/Tau without DFA, or for any Baha/DE, who want to be running Vile Raider instead for the much needed extra hitting power.
Its not so much that Falcon is a bad card, more in deciding what to keep or lose.
Wildrider Squadron, on the other hand, is a truly amazing card. I'd definitely recommend trying out 1-2 copies if you haven't till now. Its an Eldar staple for versatile combat strength: 3 damage dealt which can come in when you want it, or run away when it has done its job.
Soaring Falcon, have to agree with the above. Given the sig squad only has situational attack I don't really want another 3 coster with low atk at all. I'll have cheaper units to take command and a more punchy guy instead.
I agree, though for me its more the other way round: I am definitely keeping Gift of Isha, and may as well have another decent target for it! Without Wildriders, it'd be pretty much just the Destructors.
Turns out this card isn't a 1-cost Catachan Outpost, as it lacks the flexibiltiy and stackability of that card. 1 is the right cost for it, and its still worth playing, but its a much worse card than Outpost.
I agree with the analysis. The comment just made me chuckle because, as a signature card, you kind of have to play it in your deck. And with no shields, there's not much to lose by playing it if you draw it (unless that 1 resource is make-or-break on something else).
Still worth playing in the sense of if you draw it, you generally play it straight off, barring opportunity shortfalls in command on turn 1. This is as opposed to cards like Ragnar's Warcamp, which you play when the time is right.
Generally its not the worst part of the sig squad, but is in no way as good as, say, Khymera Den, Vile Laboratory or Cato's Stronghold.
