Hi,

I have been putting a lot of thought into how to get a Turing machine with AGoT like someone apparently has done with MtG.
This plan of mine has been foiled with the Copy limit from the latest FAQ.
Damn you, FFG!

So I needed something else completely useless to do and I remembered this old Quiz thread question: Winning before first plot is flipped.
But I wanted to do it without collusion (so no Hellholt Engineer + Balerion).

Following my solution, only prerequisite is that no opponent interferes with anything you do.
And obviously a shitload of "luck" to get all the required cards.
Here we go:

House:
House Stark

Agenda: (1)
1x The Siege of Winterfell (Lords of Winter)

Setup:
1x Arya Stark (Core Set)
1x Lucas Blackwood (Gates of the Citadel)
1x Harrenhal (Ancestral Home)
3x Narrow Sea (Core Set)
1x Shivering Sea (Kings of the Sea)

Hand after drawing back up:
2x Passing the Wall (A Turn of the Tide)
1x Make an Example (Princes of the Sun)
1x Benjen Stark (Beyond the Wall)
1x Qhorin Halfhand (Lords of Winter)
2x Call of the Three-Eyed Crow (A Journey's End)

What to do:
  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Qhorin Halfhand into play, draw 1x Endless Endurance (Lords of Winter).
  • Trigger Arya choosing the Halfhand, cancel with Harrenhal killing Lucas, trigger Lucas, keep him in play with the 3-eyed-crow
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Halfhand, trigger Agenda (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 for renwon on Halfhand = 4 power)
  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Benjen Stark into play, stand the Halfhand, draw another Endless Endurance.
  • Repeat step 2.
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Halfhand and Benjen, play 2x Endless Endurance on Benjen, trigger Agenda, trigger Make an Example (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 for renown on Halfhand, +3 from Make an Example, +4 from previously = 11 power)
  • Repeat step 2 (apart from playing 3-eyed, not needed anymore)
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Arya, trigger Arya choosing the Halfhand (don't cancel), trigger Agenda (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 for renown on Arya, +11 from previously = 15 power)
This requires a total of 16 cards (not counting Agenda and House Card) and is resolved in 11 player actions and 13 responses.

If anybody is as bored as I am and up for a challenge, is there a way with less cards/less actions/less responses?

I have made a Baratheon TMP with the Mace Tyrell that reduces the power you need to win the game - if you get Devious Intentions on him, he can end the game with three unopposed challenges, if your opponent has power, and you have claim. I might write up a best case scenario, it might be even faster than yours.

Edit: oh snap, I forgot that Lucas Blackwood lets you to do this before the marshalling phase even.

Not only that, but during player actions before the first plot is even revealed.

To whom it may concern.

Endless Endurance can only be played in Challenges Phase, so what I described above doesn't work.

But fear not!
I have an even better version! With less cards than before!

House:
House Stark

Agenda: (1)
1x The Siege of Winterfell (Lords of Winter)

Setup:
1x Lucas Blackwood (Gates of the Citadel)
1x Harrenhal (Ancestral Home)
1x Val (Return of the Others)

1x Hungry Mob (City of Secrets)

(Example-) Hand after drawing back up:
3x Passing the Wall (A Turn of the Tide)
2x Call of the Three-Eyed Crow (A Journey's End)
1x Benjen Stark (Beyond the Wall)
1x Qhorin Halfhand (Lords of Winter)

What to do:

  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Qhorin Halfhand into play, draw 1x Make an Example (Princes of the Sun).
  • Trigger Val, cancel with Harrenhal killing Lucas, trigger Lucas, keep him in play with the Three-Eyed Crow.
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Halfhand, trigger Agenda (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 for renwon on Halfhand = 4 power)
  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Benjen Stark into play, stand the Halfhand, draw 1x Jon Snow (Core Set).
  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Jon Snow into play (draw doesn't matter).
  • Repeat step 2.
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Halfhand, Benjen and Jon, trigger Agenda, trigger Make an Example, trigger Jon Snow (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 for renown on Halfhand, +3 from Make an Example, +1 from Jon, +4 from previously = 12 power)
  • Repeat step 2 (apart from playing Three-Eyed, not needed anymore)
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Hungry Mob, trigger Agenda (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +12 from previously = 15 power)

This requires a total of 13 cards (3 fewer than before).

Even better!

House:
House Stark

Agenda: (1)
1x The Siege of Winterfell (Lords of Winter)

Setup:
1x Lucas Blackwood (Gates of the Citadel)
1x Harrenhal (Ancestral Home)
1x Varamyr Sixskins (A King in the North)

Hand after drawing back up (only 6 cards needed):
1x Passing the Wall (A Turn of the Tide)
2x Call of the Three-Eyed Crow (A Journey's End)

1x Make an Example (Princes of the Sun)

1x Ghost (The Wildling Horde)

1x Jon Snow (Core Set)

What to do:

  • Play Passing the Wall to bring Jon Snow into play (draw doesn't matter).
  • Trigger Varamy to put Ghost into play, cancel with Harrenhal killing Lucas, trigger Lucas, keep him in play with the Three-Eyed Crow.
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Ghost, Jon and Varamyr, trigger Agenda, trigger Jon, trigger Make an Example (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 from Jon, +3 from Make an Example = 7 power)
  • Return Ghost to Hand.
  • Repeat step 2.
  • Do Mil-Challenge with Ghost, trigger Agenda, trigger Jon (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 from Jon, +7 from previously = 11 power)
  • Repeat step 4.
  • Repeat step 2 (apart from playing Three-Eyed, not needed anymore)
  • Repeat step 6 (+1 power for uo, +2 from agenda, +1 from Jon, +11 from previously = 15 power)

This requires a total of 9 cards.

At this point it doesn't even feel that unrealistic anymore :D

:-D

Will it be harder to pull off the combo, or to find an opponent?
