Weyland Consortium Spin Cycle Review

ANdroid: Netrunner

Here we are in the midst of regional season ( which will be taking the blame for the delayed release of this video).
We continue on this journey of breaking down what each faction got from the spin cycle.
This time we stop by the Weyland Consortium Headquarters to see what new tricks and tools they now have available to them.

Lets hear thoughts and comments on how you feel the state of the Weyland faction is in the comments.

Good show gentlemen.

I have to agree with you on Hive. It is AMAZING in Harmony Medtech.

Lost a game after a runner was able to get through a Curtain Wall-Tollbooth-Archer server.  I was just, well, good game.

Also, Breach is surprisingly effective at breaking Curtain Wall.  Only 6 credits!

On advancing Ice - something really simple that I only thought about after losing a game I shouldn't have done to (effectively) be put out of a place in the UK Nationals...

Advance Hardrian's Wall once.  I let someone get in with Knight when I really shouldn't and its always something I forget about.  There's an argument for advancing barriers when you've got nothing else to do that turn anyway, just to make Corroder start to get expensive.

Power Shudown is amazeballs in Weyland, especially if you've got the Jackson ready to go.  I used three in one turn at the Uroboros Cup to kill two Clone Chips and a Corroder.  Really crippled a Kate deck long enough for me to start scoring out.  Its mostly great defence against versus Criminals.  Many only have one or two of certain cheap breakers, and at a push Desperado and Plascrete become a target (which one of them do you want to lose?), plus as you mentioned in the video, killing things like Faerie for a credit?  Awesome.

I've found it a useful bluff play against Self Modifying too. You take a click and then ask if the runner wants to take any paid abilities before your next action.  I've found opponents sometimes crack the SMC to avoid losing it - and if not it gives me an idea about what's in their hand.

Not yet found a use for Cleaners, typically that and a Hostile or two and you can be on match point, going for the kill is rarely the winning strategy.  Still a fun of Government Contracts - you can always use the money.  If there's nothing better to do, take four credits and advance a barrier...

Also - "ill-ikt"? - I assume you're being ironic...  ;)
