Fantasy Flight Games
I’ll let that sink in for a second... crazy huh

It has been just over three years since I started CardGameDB and it has been an extremely fun and rewarding experience. I have loved card games ever since I was first introduced to them when I was a teenager. I abandoned them years later though when I realized that the rare chasing and blind purchasing system just wasn’t what I wanted in a game. I loved the deck building, the meta game, and the actual playing of these games, but hated the artificial barrier that rarity brought to the table. When I learned of FFG’s Living Card Games it felt like someone read my mind. All the great parts of a CCG with none of the suitcase rare chasing. I jumped in feet first and realized very quickly that I needed some utilities to help me search cards and build some decks, and so CardGameDB was born.
Since then we’ve expanded to cover all 6 Living Card Games, had many great volunteer writers produce articles, hosted some top notch podcasts, and grown by leaps and bounds. It is beyond anything I ever anticipated 3 years ago when I started all this.
Now, with the awesome support that FFG can provide, we have the opportunity to take everyone’s experience beyond what I could do before as a fansite. Initially there won’t be many noticeable changes. This is a new process for both FFG and I, so we are taking our time to make sure we get things right. In the future though we have some big plans for improvements, updates to the utilities, and ways to more fully integrate CardGameDB with FFG.
I know some of you might be worried that these changes could mean big shakeups here at CardGameDB. I can’t say there won’t be some shakeups, but from my point of view they are good ones that will be positive for the users here. I’ve had many talks with FFG in this process and one of the things they value most greatly is the community we have here. I can say with the utmost confidence that FFG wants to add to and enhance the value you get from Fantasy Flight Games site, the LCG games, and CardGameDB. I will be working closely with them over the coming months to make this happen.
Just so everyone knows, I’m not going anywhere. I will still be running the day to day things on the site and dropping into the forums as my time permits. So I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you all might have in the comments here, or if you’d prefer feel free to send me a PM with any questions
I’d also like to thank the users, writers, podcasters and everyone else who has contributed to our community over the years. CardGameDB is a great resource because so many of you have dedicated your time and energy in various ways to helping your fellow players out. I know it is appreciated by me, by FFG, and by the people who share the love for our hobby.
Lastly, I don’t talk about my personal life much, but I would like to thank my wife for her help in all of this. When I started this neither of us knew the amount of time and effort it would entail. Her support and willingness to help has allowed me to have the time to devote to expanding and updating CardGameDB over the years.
So that is the big news, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

That kind of recognition only says one thing: "A job well done!"
Congrat's dude.
CardgameDB has helped form the exact kind of Community that card games like the LCGs need to thrive, and it's nice to see FFG appreciating it to this extent. On the other hand Darksbane has put quite a bit of himself into making this site what it is, and it's great to see that work acknowledged as well.
Extremely good news, methinks.
I think FFG did a good thing and if this is handled well will be great.

PS: please don't take away our Deckbuilder...
Even better turn them into apps for my phone!
Can I like this 100 times?
