If you want to lose some challenges by 4 or more throw Walder Frey into the deck

Awesome pod cast. Has anyone gotten a chance to play this deck yet? I'm curious how the collaboration has held up in play.
I put it together over the weekend, and have a few thoughts that I'll try to slip into an episode here in the next week or two. One of the biggest things is making sure that all of the hosts pay attention to card synergies. To Be A Viper has anti-synergy with Quentyn. Downright useless.
Kennon - even with the issue you raise, these deckbuilding casts are really some of your best. I've listened to the "groupthink" episodes several times. I would encourage you to do this sort of thing more often. Even if you don't build a complete deck, perhaps examining an archetype (martell maesters, hyperkneel, icon removal, stark kill, whatever) and seeing how some new cards fit in, etc. would be very useful.

Giving ways to play with and against some typical strategies would go a long way. I think that's why I like these groupthink sessions - I get to hear why you like certain cards and interactions.

In all, I think this episode was a hit. I hope to hear more like it.

I enjoyed the episode. In my mind Brett had to leave because his girlfriend made him...at least that is what I like to think.

I actually wouldn't say it is useless as you are able to do it to stand a character that you just attacked with and still remove opponent's icons before getting a chance to kneel defenders. Then you can use that character for opposing/defending challenges or for another attack. Also good if you haven't managed to get Quentyn into effect yet.
@ Slothgodfather- Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit by calling it useless. Overall though, I feel this isn't really the right deck for it. In it's place, I'm testing out Rumors of War instead, in order to push the win by 4 stuff and bait our opponent into letting us trigger it.

@Meatloafx- Glad to hear you've been enjoying them. It's interesting that you mention looking at some of the archetypes in a somewhat more general sense. At one point I was going to try to make deck matchups a semi-regular feature so that we could pick out a pair and walk through some of the important cards and tactics that we saw in how the two would interact against each other. Would that be up the alley of what you're talking about? Even if it's not, would it be something that we should come back to?

@Kidnut- Lol, me too. It's way funnier to think of her nagging him off in the middle of the show rather than just being out of whack on painkillers because she had her wisdom teeth taken out that day. The truth is rarely as fun as I want it to be.
kennon,
That sounds like a groovy idea. Either in a match-up format or a deck archetype spotlight that hits some pointers in dealing with it. For example, you hit Lannister kneel and talk about some key components while discussing how it plays against burn, stark kill, whatever. I know it can be tough to keep things generic, but I know I'm dying for more strategy discussions. I also think it benefits the community as a whole and may promote some interesting builds. For example, if you lay-out what a Martell Maester deck (or any very popular deck) looks like and how it plays, as well as perhaps some things to combat it, I think you'd be helping everyone.

(I know many people may know the major archetypes already, but with the collective brain power of you guys, I'm sure you could add some interesting commentary and get people to think of some things they haven't thought of before.)
