Commentary
While the number of people voting on the poll increased by over 80%, the number of people who voted on the awards remained about the same. Looks like while the site has grown, the number of active forum writers hasn't - don't be afraid, we won't bite! Well, not too hard at least.
The Long Voyage godstomped a lot of categories, and was also a confusing card for many people - since it was a bit uncertain whether to vote pre- or post-errata, and as a result it saw votes in the Sansa and Balerion awards, as well as the Kettleblack and Tyene medals, along with its comfortable and deserved victories in the Jaime and Euron categories. It's probably safe to say that it will be the card on everybody's mind when they think back on the Cycle.
Another card that seems to have made a big splash is Dale Seaworth (AToTT), who won both the Balerion and Shagga Awards this time around - apparently the best cards are also sometimes jaw-droppers! It's hard to gauge the effect that the restriction of Negotiations at the Great Sept has had on it's standings on the Awards, at least it still gave Dale a run for his money for the Balerion.
People felt the Naval Enhancement didn't have enough of an effect on the game, and this is backed up by the top two cards for the Kettleblack Medal both being cards intended for Naval decks. Whether this was caused by the looming shadow of The Long Voyage, or the number of playable Naval-characters remaining quite low for many Houses, is hard to say. Nevertheless, most people liked the Maritime theme, so hopefully it's something that gets revisited or expanded upon at some point in the future.
The Ned and Renly categories both had a lot of cards getting single votes. Is this a sign that the cards are getting Nedlier? We definitely think it's at least a sign that the cards are becoming more visually stunning!
People are overwhelmingly looking even more forward to the next cycle than this one, and no wonder, since some of the currently spoiled stuff looks extremely interesting. And with The Banners Gather now being officially out, the wait for them is also finally over... Hopefully this new Cycle will help the game continue to surge in popularity over the coming months.

I liked the naval enhancement mechanic as an idea, but it doesn't play anywhere as neatly as it seems. It's confusing for more novice players when there are effects that check if a character has the enhancement or not, and other effects that check if a character is a naval attacker/defender. On top of that there were not that many decent characters with the enhancement so it seemed to me that the new mechanic was largely overlooked.
Stark got much less -White Harbor Dromon (TGF) is good with NCF and naval, but it';s fighting for deck space with Frozen Outpost. Their fleet is good, (Fleet from Wolf's Den (RotK)) and
Call of the Three-Eyed Crow (AJE) is a weird/OK save, but very little from this cyle actaully got me excited for Stark. Also, Wyman Manderly (RotK) can be a massive liability against burn, and isn't particularly useful anyway.
For the worst cards I voted Targ. The two best cards (Screamers, Ritual) lost most of their bite with the FAQ. And every good card except Ritual is very narrow.
I'm sure they will. It's not that hard to add them to characters that may have some kind of a ocean background.
Imagine if they gave a new Samwell Tarly a naval icon simply for his voyage to Oldtown.
