For our main segment, we chat about gencon 'as it happened'; the line-ups, the melee, the drinking, the joust - bringing on one of the finalists themselves, Aaron B. to tell us about his experience with the deck - followed by the drinking, the kingslayer, the drinking, the flying... and a rather sharp plummet in drinking since. Finally, we close off with some reminders of this weekend's big tournaments and a look at what's to come from the cast. Post-finally, we have an easter egg with content - mock Canada. We deserve it.

Fantastic episode. I want to third the invitation to stay at the Microtel next year for GenCon.
Re: Lauren's deck story Jon narrates during this episode. The night before the joust Lauren and Remko (awesome member of the Dutch meta) played a lot of test games. Afterwards the two of them and myself (I was a bit into the scotch at this point) broke down Lauren's deck for to Lauren streamline it. This led to a lot of pop-in advice from top level Thrones players. Besides Jon, a pretty drunk Aaron made suggestions, and so did Dave and Dan. In the end, Lauren ended up lowering her cost curve and adding a prize module to supplement her draw from the solar. By her admission this helped her a lot the following day. The POINT of this story is this was only possible because we had a lot of great Thrones players staying at the same place - to play test games, offer advice, and share drinks with.
One tech note, for some reason during the interview with Aaron the BtW theme played.
Edited in the link to our melee deck. The joust decks should come soon, we have a few people playing them in existing/upcoming tournaments.
Fauxintel: Thanks for catching that. I've fixed it, and will have a new version without the mis-placed bridge uploaded in about 5 minutes.

There was a mention of Faction-specific playmats, and I have totally forgotten if it was you guys or if it was White Book.
In case it was BTW, were those Gencon only, or will they be available? and do you have any pictures?
That was us (well, might have been them too - I really haven't had time to listen this week!). There were 8 faction specific playmats available for sale, and they sold fairly well - there was no mention of them being gencon exclusive, but I haven't seen any sign of them on FFG's site (which is odd).
There was also a "demo" Dany mat, which we've seen in the playmat article I put up in the link.
I'm going to try to round up the playmat pictures on the facebook page - I'll put the call out and see which ones we can get. I know

-Stark was Ice (looked stellar) with the side-banner being direwolf hair
-Martell was the old warcrest viper with the side texture being cracked/sun dried (parchment?)
-I don't remember who targ was, but the side banner was dark scales.
-I don't remember who GJ was (I think 1.0 art)
-I think Lannister was the same Jaime as was on the kingslayer mat.
-Don't know who Bara was.
Ugh, the Martell one was Magali's viper? Why must you tempt me, FFG.
