Greyjoy First Cycle Review

Got time for a big ass article about Greyjoy?

Who am I kidding, of course you do!

This week, we’re looking at the kings of tempo, Greyjoy. Honestly, is there any faction more dedicated to gaining the early lead and pushing it into a win? Maybe tempo isn’t the right word. I was never an expert on all those Magic the Gathering terms.

Let’s call it momentum. Greyjoy loves momentum plays, and they got quite a few cards for that playstyle in this cycle. From Rise of the Kraken to Raiding Longship all the way to First Snow of Winter, Greyjoy has specialized in getting an early lead and never letting up.

Of course, the downside to this strategy is if your opponent starts faster than you, you may be sunk before you ever leave the harbour.

You may have noticed I spelled harbour wrong. Well, that’s because our next reviewer hails from the land of misspelled English words: the UK.

That’s right, Richard Walker of the Northampton, England meta is our guest writer this time around. He isn’t exactly from the Midwest, but I’ve gotten to know him over the past few months and knew he’d have a lot to say, which is what you want in a review. Plus, Northampton is kind of in the Midwest of England…West of London anyway, so it works, right? :D (I had to fight Richard over this statement, but it's 100% true.)

He has been a fervent defender of the Greyjoy way of life since the beginning of the game and has made the top 8 in his most recent Regionals appearance with Greyjoy Fealty. But he’ll tell you more about his Greyjoy experience in the actual article.

Please feel free to comment below on how you think he did. And don’t pull any punches, he can take whatever you have to say about him!

And before you ask, yes. He knows my moniker is Joe From Cincinnati. He just doesn’t care.

This was a good read, I think I agreed with pretty much everything Richard wrote.   *thumbs up*
