The Banter Behind the Throne Christmas Party - Episode 24

podcast mrdav gameofthrones oldshrimpeyes thatspeel istaril raekob donovan cobrabubbles mach

Its that time of year - a time for giving, family, and getting ratarsed and hitting on the new receptionist.

Join us as we traverse our own shambles of a party, and discuss podcasting, hopes for next year, Martell, Agendas, Christmas Number Ones, Swedish Elves and our lowest moments in Thrones with our numerous guests. We also talk about what we did this week, including a brief tourney report, and our favourite cards beginning with X and Ser (that aren't Ser Arys Oakheart).

Christmassy intro remix by Martin Timcke.

Our whole back catalogue is available on Wordpress, and we have had lots of lovely and interesting guests. Contact us through any of these channels. Sometimes we answer.

Merry Christmas, Dave.

Editing as I go along

-That mixed feeling of awesomeness that you guys touched-up the theme for christmas, and sadness that you've messed with perfection.

-It's harassment. I travel to the UK under a UK passport - it says to let the bearer pass freely without let or hindrance. Craven is clearly a hindrance.

-Lanni Banner of the Lion *does* have a disdvantage - you have to run at least 12 Lannister cards. Also, it skewers things in the Annals. So it is demonstrably worse on two fronts.

-I don't agree with Rowan on Fealty. I think it's not controversial to say that fealty will fade, but I don't think it'll be on the deck limitation, but rather on the faction kneel combined by, once you get enough in-faction tools (which inherently smoothens your gold curve, as you can use the 0 cost reducers), the ability to run other agendas like Crossing. Edit: Ah, Dave made my one point, and Rowan another of them... that's what I get for typing this mid-way.

-More Jakob. I want Jakob at my Christmas parties.

-Definitely Xaro's Home.

"Craven is clearly a hindrance" has made an appearance in every appraisal I have had in the past three years.
