First I was like: Meh, another podcast, let's see what they got...
Than I was like: OH MY GOD THIS IS 2C1C WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!11eleven!
RIP 2C1C you were a formidable podcast.
Welcome The White Book. May you be an even better one!
I'm subscribed through a podcasting app - will i need to chnge my subscription, or will it be fine?
Intro music didn't play. There was blank space between the quote and intro, and between the into and rest of cast.
Edit: Figured it out. I only had one earbud in, and the music played out of the other bud.
@Darkblue, thanks!
@ScionMatty- For the moment, I'll be uploading to the 2C1C feed here as well, but it looks like in order to get the names changed properly everywhere, I'll likely have to submit a new feed for the White Book, which would then necessitate a resubscribe. My apologies for that.
@Scantrell- Hmmm... the music only played out of one channel? That's odd... it's supposed to be a stereo track. Seemed to be playing from both ears when I had my headset on testing everything last night. Was the jack possibly not in all the way as well?
@Saymekian- That..... is a really good point.
@Vszeus- YES! We need t-shirts!
I look forward to listening later today - the new logo looks very nice, and, as I mentioned to you last week, the new website looks absolutely fantastic. Not sure about the naming convention for episode numbers, though! Deprives us BTW of being the longest running active AGOT podcast - why would you do that to us?
They retired 2C1C and introduced us to S6E1!
A merchandising conspiracy. I love it!
I'm liking the website. Tournament result (Annals) integration with a site called The White Book is so thematic it makes me want to enter tournament results ALL THE TIME!
I hope we can program up some sort of web-based input rather than just embedding the sheet on the page, but I will take what I can get for now.
BTW, Jaime isn't Loyal anyhow, so you can run Jaime and Drogo together normally anyhow.
Yeah I thought was funny how they were freaking out about that combo. I am not going to gencon but I think Will has the right idea of just using the consistent factions. If your playing a deck because hoping to get two cards that work amazing together this isn't the right tournament to do that since will only have one of each card.
also...ugh your website looks really good now another site I gotta follow..
I want to make sure this is very clear to everyone. The 2nd edition tourney is going to be a brutally boring and frustrating. The least entertaining kind of Thrones you could play.
Even if you find "cool" interactions you will have one of each card in your deck.. Making it game after game of who drew the good cards and who drew the bad cards...
yes the kingslayer tournament is for just trying out the game really for new players, for the first time. Sure a playtester will probably win it but in the end it isn't a serious competition anyways. Calling it boring though is a little far fetch. Just don't take it serious because it really isn't a serious tournament sadly it is just for fun.

Come on now. Unpredictable matches with new cards you don't know well, that can swing on a card or two, in an environment where the optimal solutions haven't been found? It's going to be fun. And the mood will be light.
@Agktmte- Thanks! Yeah, embedding it was the best I could do for now. I'd love to be able to work out a submission form that would auto post to it. If you know anyone that can help with that sort of thing, let me know! In the mean time, at least having it as a bit more of a public feature than just a forum post should help some.
Also, while you're at it, make sure to list the tournaments as events in the event system! Hmmm.... now if only that could be more directly integrated with the Annals...
@awritt- Oh, I don't know. I find limited events to be quite interesting really. Sure, this won't be to quite the engagement level of draft, but even sealed deck limited tournaments are quite entertaining. I get a kick out of trying to make the best plays possible in a limited pool.
By the way, for the core set, each faction has a single card that's in duplicate. We don't know yet what cards those are for each faction, but I'm guessing it's either their chumps or one of their events.
I'd guess that it is the reducer location.
But the Night's Watch doesn't have one of those. Maybe they'll get an extra Meager Contribution or Old Forest Hunter?
I also only heard the intro music out of one speaker. I checked while it was playing that my headphones were plugged in. So, something went wonky during finalization.
@Kennon - Booster or pack drafts are my absolute favorite style of playing any game. I also think it requires the most skill to play (this applies to drafts, sealed events swing too heavily on what you open). Playing with a single core where you grab all the cards in two houses, removes any deckbuilding skill and becomes almost entirely luck of the draw. Just a really bland event. Would have much preferred they lowered the deck minimum size to ~40 cards to at least create some sense of choice and reduce a little variance.
@AGKTMTE I've come to believe its the reducer chud. Cheap bodies, same effect, blah blah.
People act like there isn't going to be a lot of skill in knowing which and how many neutrals to run, or what plots and at what time to play them.
I am really enjoying the music and name choice to fit, as you said, into the more thematic approach. Love the logo, too, really superb.
I do think the music bridges are a little too long (and cross over a little too much with talk).
Also, "What's in the box?". Bruno is awesome. Enjoyed the sign-off!
1) I recommend the acronym LUCK (Lose(win), Unopposed, Claim, Keywords) to remember your challenge resolution
2) We do know which neutrals (and plots) are duplicated from the demo lists in the L2P guide, but we don't know which (single) card for each faction is present x2.
Player skill may factor in. Unless the cards/plots just play themselves when drawn, I guess.
