I think Will will save Benjen from a lot of Milk of the Poppy.
Jon isn't declared as attacker so no stealth from him in each challenge.
I see that you've re-re-branded, as the episode's description (in the mp3 file itself) has the authors as "The White Bok".
Enjoyed Tommy's story Siege, and wanted to hear more about Kirsten's anecdote! Tell me more, tell me more!
Really have to prop Kyle's DWDW... what can I say. We mock, but it works... again and again.
Ah, thanks for never missing an opportunity, Alex. I know I can always count on you.
Stark DWDW is a thing even now. I've been playing it since the agenda came out and hope to run a mock in Germany with it.
Well, you lose the downside as well as the keywords, so Milk will have its upsides too.
My Point was that Primary target for Milk is Benjen and when they milk him you let one UO with Will out to discard him
I don't recognize all of your voices yet, but someone said just play some games as Night's Watch and see how many challenges you let go unopposed. It's a lot.
Or something along those lines.
And I agree that Night's Watch Fealty does suffer from that a little bit.
But I play Night's Watch Stark and I can genuinely say that, on average, I let less than 2 or 3 challenges go unopposed per game. And those challenges I let go unopposed are, more often than not, by choice because I don't have the Wall yet. Or turn 1 challenges where my set up was missing 1 icon.
There are the occasional games where I only have 1 intrigue icon past turn 2 or 3 and it is knelt by Filthy Accusations or bypassed by stealth, but that doesn't happen as often as you think. It is pretty easy to keep a consistent board presence since Maester Aemon exists.
That said, Will is still a risky card because, as you said, you hate to see him early game. And if you do encounter the issues of heavy kneel or heavy stealth and don't have the cards to defend all challenges, it's a slap in the face.
I gave him a 4 out of 5 in the chapter pack review, with a comment that if it weren't for insight, he'd be a 3. I run 2x of Will right now, I am thinking of dropping him to 1x, since he is not critical to my strategy at all and, every once in a while, can really hurt you. I think a B- is a fair grade.
I'm not done with the cast yet, but thoughts so far:
I agree with Aaron on Will, with the exception that he hasn't considered an actual defensive deck. If you put him into a 'normal' Night's Watch deck I actually think he's quite a bad card for all the reasons Aaron stated, but in a deck that's actually designed to fit the defensive subtheme, he plays perfectly into it. But otherwise yeah he sucks.
Left and Right are still terrible and I'm disappointed to hear Aaron trying to defend them.
Will: "The Second Edition titles rule, and I am really looking forward to Worlds next year."
Tommy: "I think Melee is going to be a lot better."
As someone who was a Melee playtester, that just warms my heart because we put a lot of thought into them. I heard a lot of the same around the tables on Sunday. I loved being in the mix the first time those new title mechanics really came into play, and seeing how people were responding to them. Wish I could have stayed all three rounds.
Wamma- left n right at one of each are solid chud with upside. My Tyrrell decks draw a LOT so in seeing the upside a fair amount, and when I don't? They die as normal chud.
Hey Tommy,
I played siege against you during regionals, but my win against you in the joust was done with Martell NA. :-)
