Memoirs from a Wandering Took...

The story below took place somewhere in Athens, Greece, or so it seemed at the start because after a little while the only thing i could see was Mirkwod Forest becoming wilder and wilder in fornt of my very eyes. It seemed like the forest itself didn't want to let us reach our destination.

Like it didn't want to let us turn over the creature named Gollum to King Thranduil, Legolas father, for questioning.
We started this journey almost a month now, with directions from Gandalf the Grey himself. Started from Mirkwood with lots of suplies and and expectations but now we've run out of both. When we crossed Mirkwood forest for the first time, it seemed very peaceful but Legolas has warned us that the forest is not always like this...
We managed to cross Garrock mountains and repel the fierce attack of 4 Trolls without casualties, thanks to Gimli the Dwarf and his axe. Even the Dark Lord himself if he watched us would feel a shiver up his spine if he could feel anything at all, watching Gimli cut down the beasts with a frenzy and the only thing he cared was that the beasts didn't have an arrow from Legolas on them so that the kill was his and his alone! Every hit he took only made him stronger and more determined!

Throughout or journey we found a wounded Great Eagle. A creature that the woman Aragorn had brought with us, Beravor, called King of the Sky.

.
So she led us with steady pace towards Rhosgobel, the home of the great wizard Radagast the Brown, so that he can cure it. We strayed from our main quest but noone disagreed that the the Eagle should be saved. So the Great Eagle was cured and we won another companion to our quest for Gollum, Radagast!
The hills of Emyn Muil stood threatening before us. 10 days we went up and down searching for signs of Gollum.
The Knowledge of Theodred for this area proved to be our savior and we managed to track the path Gollum has taken. Unfortunately the creature was heading for the Dead Marshes...

The Dead Marshes were an old battlefield, were creatures from different races laid dead. The place smelled death. It was like death himself was travelling beside you. You could touch him, you could talk to him and you could stare for hours and hours and...
"WAKE UP AND GET AWAY FROM THERE!"
Eowyn's voice woke me up at the very last second. Undead hands from the marsh almost grasped me. The princess of Rohan saved my life that day and i will never forget it...

After all these ordeals the creature named Gollum was in our hands and that brings us to now...
To now that hundreds of arrows pass beside me and i try to avoid them. To now that i saw Gimli disappear from my sight from a well placed hit from a Hill Trolls club. To now that we were so close to reach the end of our mission but the enemies overwhelmed us...
All was over i thought. The sky from deep blue was now dark as death. The eye of Sauron knew that we are here. Everyting was over...
Light! Light spread everywhere! Light, the only thing that can end the darkness!
- Go away creatures of the night! Away from the defenders of the Light!
The voice of an old man could not frighten these creatures. But fortunately for us, this was not just an old man!
Gandalf the Grey showed up riding the Great Eagle we have rescued and beside them were a lot more! The light at the nick of time hid us from the eye of Sauron and the creatures run away, with Aragorn chasing them and killing them as they fled!

I didn't believe that we were going to survive that, but now that i remember all that from the warmth of King Thranduil's Palace and with a belly full of mead, i remember why i left home. To live adventures like that!
"Memoirs from a Wandering Took"

Last night was magical. The adventure Return to Mirkwood was difficult indeed. But 2 people managed to get it done. With 49 threat the first player drew Gandalf so that he can lower his threat and not be eliminated from the game at the next turn. And at the end with only one player left, with only one companion left we did the imposible!
If you want to live moments like that, trust me this game will give it to you.

Im half tempted to purchase a copy of the game but the co-op aspect really puts me off. Im also a little sceptical about the adventure packs. Do they play different each time or does it pan out similarly to previous attempts?
I have the same issue with the Star Wars LCG. I cant help but think they would have been better making the 2 games a PvP experience.
Maybe im wrong...?
