So the Darth Vader deck box giveaway is going to be rather unique. TGO sent us the idea to run a "Nationals Fantasy LCG League" and the basic premise is that you get points based off the top 16 decks. You pick 1 affiliation for each side and 2 objective sets from each affiliation plus 2 neutral objective sets. You get 1 point for each deck that any of those are in and each round we keep adding up points until hopefully we have a winner. And the winner will receive a Darth Vader deck box!!

So starting the week of Gencon and leading up until the start of the tournament people can submit their fantasy selections (I will make a separate thread for this, so don't do it now) and once I get the deck lists for the Top 16 and each subsequent round I will begin calculation points. Here is an example of how your submissions should look:

Username: Ketricel
Affiliation: Sith/Smugglers
LS Objectives: Decoy at Dantooine/Sensors Are Placed
DS Objectives: The Heart of the Empire/The Bespine Exchange
Neutral Objectives: Hit and Run/Tribal Support

Note that while the winner of the deck box is limited to US/Canada residence only anyone can join in for the Fantasy League for bragging rights!! On August 12th I will post an official post for people to submit their entries. If you have any questions feel free to ask away.
Great podcast guys! Toc, that bit with Lahn-doh was hilarious. Also, thanks for the props on that crazy Falcon ruling.

I haven't listened to your pod cast yet, and although we don't have EoD in Aus yet i've played a lot of games on octgn so far. It strikes me (personally) that EoD is extremely lop sided in the power distribution. I've bene building lots of scum and scum/navy and i'm not sure there is a way (outside of god draw vs. deck dysfunction) to be smugglers or smuggler/jedi.

If you guys know of a build that can actually compete with it in anything resembling a 50/50 split i'd be happy to know. The thing that ticks me off the most is that the uper level smuggler cards just require no thought at all and synergise far in excess of anything the scum seem to have?

I'd be more than happy to find out that this is not the case - the balance just doesn't seme to be there though.

Cheers
I disagree with you. I think EoD is incredibly well done and balanced. The problem as I see it is that Smugglers & Spies are very obvious in how to be used. The big guy deck is pretty much the same old Smugglers Den decks just with different characters in the mix. The Smugglers Run decks are very fast and easy to play but also lack some consistency and can be played around quite easily.

I have had success with both Scum/Sith as well as pure Scum beating Smugglers Run and Smugglers big guy decks. The difference with Scum is that they are something you have to play well and also something that requires careful thought in how to build the decks. They are not as obvious as Smugglers tends to be.
