Similar thing happened to a buddy of mine 12 years ago. He built a site for Battletech better than WotC's. Sold it to WotC and joined them as a community manager. Helped 'em develop Magic Online. Then left to launch Xbox Live with MSFT. Now he works on an MMO, and got into tech just because of card games.
All that just to say, you've built an incredible site. This thing doe happen, but not every day. So that it happened to you and nice to see FFG recognize your achievement!
