Cards are only moribund when *leaving* play (not when entering play, or when moving between out-of-play areas). Since you have to (successfully) pay the cost of Edric to then resolve his ability, Darkstar would be in play and could be chosen as the target of his ability.

I really like the idea of Scaling Ladder out of Siege, partly because of the gameplay potential, but mostly because the quote is from the actual siege of Winterfell. This card was clearly designed by a sneaky Stark player at FFG.
