That deck is so cool, the most annoying part of playing To be is that it wont work on turn 7 and 8. With defiance the problem is fixed. This is so brilliant.
Hey Darryl,
watch MUD.

I'll be in London. I'll endeavor to convince Bruno.

One thing that I had considered with this deck is to drop that Victarion and go for Lady of the Leaves and/or Shadow Littlefinger. The Defiance agenda ensures your opponent is gaining power, helping to turn these guys on. While Lady of the Leaves isn't gamebreaking, Littlefinger does more than Viccy when activated. Of course Victarion is more consistent, but Littlefinger helps in all challenge types.

I'm also wondering how much punch you're getting from the Winter tech. The Kingsroads are obviously amazing, and I suppose the idea of Defiance is you're not stuck with A Time for Ravens if you don't need it, but one Sam and two Carrion birds seems a bit slim, especially in a deck without a ton of other draw. But Bruno Knows Best, right?

I'll have to try something like this out. I might also inspect Storming the Shore instead of Iron Lore
I believe that the above comment shows my penchant for Jank.

Not even one River blockade? for shame! id probably go to one cog for it.

My only regret is that we didn't put in a naval escort that card rules and it gives use to the cog.

I will give it a shot.

Even though I was alone in the car at the time, I'd said "Thank you!" aloud, Will, in the couple of seconds before you gave me the nod for amending that pronunciation. ^_^

My only regret is that we didn't put in a naval escort that card rules and it gives use to the cog.

I will give it a shot.

+1

It was recently added to Netflix streaming, for you convenience.

Thanks for the prop! Carla listened :)
Used a variant of the deck in this podcast at the Manchester, UK Store Champ, went 2-1 in a 3 round swiss, lost to a Stark Night's Watch Bounce deck that used the Wall to bounce Defenders of the North into play as defenders in all challenges I threw at them. Couldnt really sit back and just win dominance as they were claiming prized for the agenda and were unfortunately pushing power challenges through! Good deck though, MVPs Theon Greyjoy, Negotiations and Bay of Ice.
A SoW agenda in a Greyjoy deck?

WE DO NOT SOW!
A million likes for the prospect of John Bruno (and other Americans too for that matter) potentially coming to the Battle of Blackwater Bay! For anyone else interested the facebook event is here and the cgdb thread is here.

On the episode itself, I really like the deck idea, I'm a big fan of Defiance. There are some small details I would change, but that's basically always the case with a first draft. I do want to stick up for Bloody Keep though - Greyjoy Winter Aggro can very easily choke itself, and while I'd never dream of putting in more than one copy, a strong limited reducer can be very helpful (limited being a good thing here because of NML, FroSo and Favorable). Short of it being blanked by Nightmares/Dry Season it's the only reliable reducer you can have.
I changed some aspects of the deck after playing a few games. I changed A Time for Ravens as i never needed the plot card and didnt ever need to use the light choke of winter. I put Men of Pride in instead for the 2 claim and as there is only Carrion Bird in that is non unique with a keyword so it wont effect me when played. Also i dropped the Samwell Tarly and put in 2 two Ironborn Marauders as i only ever got one use out of Sam in the games i played, Bay of Ice and LIV provided better and more reliable draw.
As i discovered last night playing with my shiny new (but absolutely terrible) Martell Defiance deck, with this agenda you *must* remember not to let your opponent get to 14 power at the end of the dominance phase...

Glad to hear that it went pretty well for you, Frappy. What kind of tweaks did you make in the first version that you took to the tournament? I think I agree with the Sam drop that you made later as well. Just not great odds on hitting him and one of the 4 birds in the deck.

Ah, JCWamma, how I do wish that I could make it across the pond to a tournament in your neck of the woods. Maybe one of these years...

Quite welcome, Pulseglazer.

You're welcome, Amuk.

Craken, I do love the Blockade quite a lot, but I think I like Cogs more. That initiative and almost guaranteed dominance win is still highly underrated, I think. If I personally had to cut a card, for it, I think I'd go with Street of Silk.
