2C1C 2 Champs and a Chump Podcast Kennon Gearhalt

Great podcast as ever! Interesting to see quite a lot of conflicting views on a number of the cards.

Given the number of cards that are so hard to rate without seeing the full cycle, it may be worth having a look back at the packs in a later episode (ie one released after the 6th chapter pack).

Yeah... these are the bumps and bruises that come along with any new cycle that introduces a new concept. I found a lot of the new Naval enhancement dependent cards to be useless without knowing what else was coming out. It's not too often that a new concept has enough support until we see the rest of the cycle. It's a shame. :-(

Great cast. I'm torn on Counterplot. It helped me win a game today with PBtT, but only after a copy sat in my hand for two turns, got discarded for intrigue claim, and then I drew into a second copy and used it.
I suppose the question to ask is if the card that would have been in your hand instead of counterplot for those turns would have won you the game. I think Counterplot's biggest strength is that it can turn a game from lose to win more efficiently than virtually any other card. Whether that overcomes the fact it is more situational than most event cards (and prized 3 of course) - I'm not sure either.
I'm not too sure with Lannisters strong event base that I would ever run Infamous in a joust deck.

About Blood Orange Grove: taking away shadow crest can be helpful since the shadow rules forbid a card without shadow crest from going into shadows. So you can use it to kill the likes of Arya/Meera/Preston in a correct situation. Also there has been another crest removal card, but it is more situational and not costed well so it sees barely any play - Veteran Knight.
Using Preston to put Ser Robert Strong back to shadows after the Lanni player's opponent has marshalled will be very strong.

Using BOG to remove Ser Robert Strong's shadow crest to prevent this will be just as strong.
Slop: absence of the Painted Table segment in this episode

Great pod as usual guys. You guys always seem to be overly tough on Stark though. Edmure is going to open up a lot of cool combos, and Needle too. Cat o' the Canals + Needle & Brienne all out at the same time, with Edmure to put any killed Meera or Brienne cards back in the deck is going to be fun. And Grey Wind is going to love it when Viserys comes into play, as long as the wolf gets out first.

I really think Prized 3 is a huge turn off for Counterplot especially with the knowledge your opponent has of what plot you played.
It's an amazing effect but it's cost is a little too high for the risk that actually comes along with playing it.

Also, just wondering if you ever credited the listener who suggested the name "The Painted Table"? (clears throat) Or maybe you had the idea before I even suggested it... It's late and I'm full of myself.

Great reviews guys. They are positive and supportive of the game as a whole. Some reviews I read/hear/watch make me wonder why some people still play the game.

Great work, but I am most impressed by your discussion at the end regarding the Jaime-Cersei scene in the show. Your comments were nuanced and sensitive and showcased a side of you guys that I admire a great deal.

Thanks for that.
Well thanks. I thuought we were kinda just spitballing what happened to come up about it, so it's good to know that my gut reactions were more nuanced than I would have expected. It does probably help though that I had seen the episode twice by the time we recorded, so I was able to judge that scene a couple times.
