2C1C- Episode 206

I've been thinking about the restricted list all week, and you have to exercise extreme caution because the meta is nearly perfect right now aside from Boats. If you unrestrict Red Queen's Faithful and Hatchling's Feast, AND remove the errata on KotHH, AND restrict Harrenhal, that's probably too much of a swing back to control. Most cards on the restricted list are there for good reason, so I'd rather see cards ADDED to the list.

 

Harry, Captured Cog, and Ghaston Grey are my top targets.

 

Do ya'll think adding Captured Cog would do enough to hurt boat decks? If not I'd prefer the limit once per phase errata. 

 

I like the suggestion of adding Harry + Mander and removing Cache with House Lannister only.

 

I'm fine with Sam and backhanded seasons. As Aaron mentioned, every single draw card shouldn't be restricted.

 

Can we get an image for Gates of Winterfell please? Also one thing to note: Events have a Faction affiliation now, so you could draw into Like Warm Rain.

Why not the red viper, why? Seriously.

On Hollow Hill, I thought cards at command also was because you could open with 10 gold as much as Rally Cry, Sansa, and Shadow Killer?

Also, maybe a silly question, but why not remove the Others trait from Fleeing?

(Also the Cache can be taken out by location hate as well as blanking and attachment hate, so Greyjoy and Bara can answer it pretty easily too, as well as anyone running ACB or Rally Cry. And I still think it should be restricted, because it's that good.)

Gates of Winterfell keeps you level in at least single claim intrigue challenges.  I quite like it.

 

Gold Cloaks, good ambush cost but who knows if that's enough to play it.

Boats are everywhere right now, but besides that the game feels in a good place to me. I like the once per phase ideas to tone it down. But as it (1.0) is basically over any change they make will be scrutinized as before cards were added removed not only reactively but proactively because of upcoming sets. Now they can see everything and pick and choose and because of that it may be seen by some as favouring certain houses depending on the cards they pick because of that, lets face it, they will never make everyone happy.
I hope testing in 2.0 continues on a decent scale to avoid lengthy restricted lists or erratas.

Gold cocks are back!

Just played against a Stark KoW that got to 14 power by turn 3, and it made me thank that what I'd like to see happen to Stark is for Minstrel's Muse to get restricted. That power grab is really strong, has essentially no cost, and wins them games that they otherwise have no right to. And it doesn't really fit with the rest of the house's mechanical themes. With that gone I think they're about right at the moment.

Great episode, guys! Though I'm not sure I appreciate Glazer calling me boring I think adding Frozen Solid is fine if you give me back Fury of the Wolf. But I think Meera should stay on.
@CobraBubbles - I don't think you can restrict a card just because you don't like seeing it. And I think if the Stark player has got to 11 power, then they have plenty of business winning the game. And it isn't an auto 3 power, you can still stop them from winning dom.
