All Things Shagga - What's Yours Is Mine

Small Council All Things Shagga Kennon
Here we go again, dear readers! This week, on All Things Shagga, I was excited to rehash an old topic rather than share a new deck with you. Yes, that's right, we were all set to sail the uncharted waters of The River Reaver's Song, Pt 3! I was planning on walking through several of the games that I had played with the deck, talk about what hands I kept on setup, which plays saved my bacon (or grilled it), and various related things. Unfortunately, FFG went and dropped a brand new FAQ in my lap that dealt a rather surprising blow to such a non top tier deck. So, this left me a little bereft. The games that I had played, taken notes on, and photos of, were of little use. I was also hesitant to just redo a tweaking article like part two. Thankfully, enter Darknoj to solve my conundrum! Our very own Darknoj contacted my via Skype this weekend to pass along an idea that he'd had for a new Shagga deck that he'd been experimenting with and which he thought showed some promise for me to talk about here. Of course, when he said that it could use some tweaks to improve it, I think he might have actually been meaning to make it more Jaime. Well not here, dear readers! Oh no, he came to the wrong place for that kind of thing. Instead, we've gone and made it even more Shagga! To Darknoj, I apologize. To the readers, I present- What's Yours is Mine!
The Cards:
Melisandre's Favor- Ok, this is one of the core cards for the concept here. Take your opponent's very best character that can take attachments and then go to town with it for as long as you can. Bonus points if you can win the game by taking (and thus claiming) a character with power.
Enslaved- The little cousin of Melisandre's Favor, Enslaved can still be a pretty nasty board swing by taking from your opponent and granting to you. It's a bit more limted in scope, but doesn't have the duration issue that Favor has, so it's probably worth it for this deck to look at out of house.
Seductive Promise- Ok, so its in some ways even more limited than our first two in the What's Yours is Mine trifecta by only being able to take non-unique characters, when very many of the ones you'd want to take will be unique, but that's offset by having even less of a duration issue than Mel's Favor or Enslaved. Since the first two are attachments, they can be removed at any time and control reverts to the character's owner, but unless they cancel the Seductive Promise right when you play it, you'll have that character until it leaves play.
Conquest- Ok, so it's not exciting to talk about here, but in many ways it's the glue that holds this deck together so that you can affordably play all the neat stuff that we want to. This new variation on the Treaty style agendas is generating a lot of ideas for a lot of folks right now.
Lady Daenerys's Chambers- Here's a piece that really makes a couple of those core cards sing. As long as you have a semi steady flow of Targaryen characters, you can keep returning Mel's Favor and Enslaved to hand and prime them to play again. Especially nice for Favor since it discards itself each round, but it can also be useful just to deal with losing the attachments due to their characters being killed or discarded.
Summer Encampent- Well, here's how you make sure that even a semi steady stream becomes worthwhile with the Chambers. Just return a Targaryen that you already have in play to your hand so that you can play them again! Bonus points for Red Warlock which can get more of the attachments you need as well as Jorah or Daario who can repeatedly remove troublesome characters on the opponent's board. Heck, even Lysono Maar is worthwhile here, since each time you replay the attachments afterward, he'll let you look at the opponent's hand!
The Red Queen's Faithful- How do you pull this bevy of stealing effects together into a game winning strategy? By taking your opponent's power at the same time! The Red Queen's Faithful lets you drop power onto opponent's characters where it can then be snatched for you by one of your several steal effects. Bonus points for winning the game off of playing an attachment!
Thoughts on Play:
Now, I haven't had the chance to play with the original version of this deck, so Darknoj could certainly tell you more about how well it functioned there and what some of his strategies were, but in this more Shagga-fied version, I can tell you that things will likely work a bit differently. His original build did carry a solid bit of control with a light shadows theme for the Black Cells and the ability to turn Storm the Gates into a full reset with Valar Dohaeris.
Here, instead, we've played up the "taking your opponent's stuff" theme to almost comic levels. I think it's still a viable strategy for some casual games, but beware. Thankfully, using your opponent's best characters against them also often weakens their ability to break your strategy, so be on the lookout for anything that might cause particular issues and see if you can claim it for yourself as quickly as possible.
Much like any combo style deck, however, the early game can be a bit of an issue for you while you get your engine up and running. Thankfully, this house pairing lets us minimize some of those potential issues. Storm the Gates gives us another reset option to help control early incoming floods and buy time to get online. Several of our Baratheon characters like Stannis, The Bastard of Nightsong, and Melisandre can put early game power gaining pressure of our own on the opponent. And conveniently enough, the Bastard and Melisandre both steal power from the opponent which slows that early problem and plays right into the deck's theme! And of course, as alluded to earlier, our character stealing effects also give us the ability to punish the opponent for claiming power on their characters via renown or the like by just taking it for ourselves.

Good comments above, too - the deck doesnt look too much like a shagga "only" but strong version as well.
Very cool idea, though!
@OkTarg- I was looking at that bannerman theme as well! There's some good arguments to be made for it, particularly in ability to cheat Enslaved into play, but with the Man-at-arms discarding himself, it becomes tricky to keep enough bannermen on the board to make it practical with just the two uniques. If that new cross house bannerman rewarded you for having Targaryens, I'd look at it for sure, but as is he felt like a wasted slot.
