Posted on behalf of oldshrimpeyes: While Dave was at Worlds, Peel and I were left behind the wheel. We invited Bambi to come and join us to review Taking the Black. We then went wildly off topic (at listener request) and managed to squeeze in some more discussion about the Spice Girls.
Peel was left in charge of editing which may go some way to explaining the running time and the fact my request for a toilet break was firmly denied.

Yes, Fridays are the usual day for us to release the episode. We normally run a bit shorter than this week but I think Peel, Bambi and I were having such a blast we forgot about the running time. Really glad you enjoyed it. Check us out Facebook when you get the chance - that's where we post calls for listener questions and the like.
i selfishly hoped that the normal release time was midweek. i could really use a tuesday or wednesday published agot podcast in my life.
Just a thought about Merchant Prince; if he takes a Noble Lineage, he becomes a 4 STR tricon for 0 extra gold. Could be enough for a 1-of?
Is Noble Lineage good in the rest of the deck? Maybe if you build for it. My first thought is to try it with Banner of the Sun so you get extra value from Noble Lineage on cards like Edric Dayne, House Dayne Knight, and Dornish Paramour. Also, Jorah will get an upgrade from it as well.

A note on sacrifice: Looks a Bran, or Jorah. They are being 'pushed off' - and we don't know if they'll make a comeback... but they're not dead. The word choice "sacrifice" is odd, sure, but thematically (based on how its used mechanically), it makes sense. And the Rangers sacrificed in the prologue? Spoilers: They come back too.
I was thinking that also. Syrio's Training isn't terrible either as a placeholder given Martell cards like it anyway, you get the icon, strength, and a bit of protection vs icon removal.
I'm surprised nothing was mentioned on Tyrion's synergy with the long plan, or the fact you get thte gold if you lose on offense as well as defence. That's a potential 14 gold you can transfer over to next turn (and if it is less then chances are you are getting some UO challenges). The more I think about that plot the more I like it.
