Banter Behind the Throne - Episode 30 - I may be Batman in my spare time, I cannot be sure.

banterbehindthethrone jcwamma thatspeel mrdav gameofthrones

Peel named this episode. Don't ask.

This week James Waumsley (JCWamma) joins us in lieu of his more talented fiance to discuss the intricacies of Tears of Lys and the 'Where Others Fear to Tread' tournament, held a few weeks ago in Norwich, England. Craven is off fighting Mega Shark because he has no dedication.

'Where Others Fear to Tread' was a first edition tournament with no restricted list and very little errata - and therefore this episode is fairly first edition heavy, but hopefully we got the balance right and it should be accessible to newer players who want to hear about all the broken cards that used to be around, and the kind of decks you can build with a large card pool.

Either way, the banter is top.

Eratta: A new ruling on tears has been made and it does now work - check out Istaril's post in the same thread.

Sheesh, you had to bring up the rules thing the day before I post the (now official) ruling that overturns it. When ktom makes a ruling, you can't just half-heartedly object! It takes time to appeal to a higher authority!

At least the end result is that the ruling makes sense for what you'd think!

The end result is that my heart is broken.

Well, that dashes my dreams of a Lethal Weapon 2 exchange in game.  "Diplomatic Immunity!" "It's just been revoked"

1) Awful lines.

2) It actually allows this scenario to happen. You can use the event to give them a poison token even if they're immune, then strip their immunity, then the poison will kill them. Very classy.

I'm dedicated, but I'm also dedicated to justice.

Now I have to wait for the cards for this to be possible...and build a deck that can do it while Lysa is on the table.

I've just listened to the 'cast, and just to stop anyone thinking I have alzheimer's, the Black Sails/Naval Enhancement bit was edited due to interruptions.
