Commentary

While a staggering 96 people voted on the overall poll, only 22 of those nominated cards for the Awards/Medals. This may partly be due to the work required to sift through all of the cards from the whole CP Cycle in order to form a full picture of the subject matter. The overall turnout for the poll was much higher than it ever was on the FFG Forums - hopefully we'll get even more people participating for the A Song of the Sea Cycle!

House of Dreams (ARotD) was definitely the card on everybody's mind - in addition to getting the Euron Medal, it also scored very high in 3 other categories, and was voted for in 3 others. Meanwhile House Targaryen clearly seemed to stand high above everyone else by having cards placed 1st and 3rd in the Balerion category, winning the Jaime category and obtaining a staggering 70% vote for being the House that obtained the most love. To top this off, not a single Targaryen card was nominated as one of the worst cards in the Cycle.

The matter of who got the least out of the Cycle was a tight race between three Houses, with Martell just edging before Lannister and Baratheon. This end result is also supported by Medal nominations - while Baratheon and Lannister both got their share of nominations, Martell was leaving everybody a bit cold, with very few positive nominations. Overall the Cycles plots weren't highly valued, since half of the votes for worst card went to plot cards.

While the Hot Pie Award had very little consensus and the lowest total number of votes, people seemed to be spoiled for choice with the Ned and Renly Awards. It would seem that as a whole, the cards in Beyond the Narrow Sea were thought to be both thematic and beautiful.

In the end, it seems strangely fitting that Much and More (AHM) did much more than expected, but Little and Less (ARotD) did a whole lot less than was thought. Could this have been the intent when the cards were designed? Feel free to bring forth your opinions on the results in the comments below!

To be honest, I looked at the cards that I would have nominated for the awards and saw that all of them where already nominated, so I just waited for the poll on these.
...but Reanly award feels to be little bit off. Personal taste..
People think Dragon Egg is useless? Really? Hmm, I know it's an attachment, but giving all characters or locations ambush is just so handy ...

i 100% agree with lordy, its an attachment yes.... but if they are concentrating on getting rid of that attachment your more powerful attachments dont get removed, plus with Lady Daenerys's Chambers (Core) getting to recycle it is amazing.....

my armies deck has 3 copies and i scare the crap out of opponents with mil and power strength with how fast i can marshal

i cant believe that
Magister Illyrio (VM) didnt get more votes, this card is just disgusting in a burn deck and has personally made games ive played against him miserable attempts at getting characters on the board

i like these polls a lot, gives me a much different perspective on cards

I've yet to get my money's worth out of Ilyrio.
I guess Illyrio's big problems are a ), that he's an ally at a time when ally hate is fairly prevalent, and b ), that he's one of the few Targ characters you leave out on the table for a prolonged period of time. So he's a great card while he's out, but in my experience he usually can't be kept out for too long.

And just to establish I love Illyrio, he's an autoinclude for Targ KotHH, but he's not the best autoinclude they've received this cycle!

~ Somehow this sentence sums up the whole CP Cycle pretty nicely. ;)

My only problem is Bran over Young Griff (VD)
This cycle had a lot of great art. New Stannis, Kindly Man, Young Griff.
Griff looks badass, but I don't think its the best.
Ah well, next time I'll type in my two cents in the vote.
Ah, the best art is that Cersei walk of shame card. Amazingly done. I agree with most of the rest, though.

Yeah, handy but useless. ;)
