In this week's episode, Istaril and Darknoj discuss the (lack of) FFG news, some other Istaril-generated content, as well as the spoiled CP2. Darknoj explains some of the new Conquest decks he's faced, and then, joined by Raul (r480), they discuss prize support in the LCG on both sides of the Atlantic.

Wow, I guess my "unplayable" comment touched a nerve. It's a shame that you took it out of context though. That comment had nothing to do with the state of the meta, and everything to do with being unable to prepare for Regionals until the FAQ drops.

Putting that quibble aside, I do appreciate ya'll's podcast. There's great content every week. Thanks.

Actually, that's kind of a case of... how to explain. People have complained that the game is, without using that specific word, unplayable in the current meta, while you used the word unplayable in a different sense (that making decks before you know an FAQ hits is unrewarding). By using that same word, I didn't mean to single you out at all, but rather just disagree with those who think all their solutions have to come from FFG.

I do agree that building a tournament deck when you know an FAQ just around the corner is difficult - although from the regional schedules I've seen, most of us should still have many weeks to build our decks if the FAQ drops this week.

Fun fact regarding the Negotiations without the when revealed: The German version is actually missing that part, so the version spoiled probably was the basis for the translation and corrected later on.

No i have no idea. I know it was in the top cut of a octgn tournament a few years back before they change GG to be chars of equal or lesser cost. I had thought it was JCWama but he says its not him. The new version of the deck is great in the current environment and I think it will stay as strong or get stronger after the faq since i cant see many of its cards, if any, getting hit by the faq.

I think Alex and I will be trying to do at least one cast on the top decks going into regional season including ways to play vs them and i think concept decks (decks show casing the key interactions in the deck but could still use tweaking).

It's been brought to my attention that the cards for CP2 have been posted here on cardgamedb - I checked at the time we decided on episode content, so I apologize for the delay. We'll do our best to get a CP review out today or tomorrow!

Ire tracked it down....Yes that was the deck that inspired me to build my new conquest version.

So Props to Alando on designing a deck concept that 2 years later came back in style and i think is really good.

Cheers Darknoj. That was my first tournament deck so I didn't know deckbuilding 'rules' I take for granted now, like not to play treaty agendas or using more than seven resource locations in winter. I'm a more boring deckbuilder now as a result.

I couldn't help but be a little jealous of all the prize support discussion. I would love to access to a playmat, boxes or anything like that but we have a small aloof group of players. Not much hope for even 4 players sometimes. If something is gonna happen here I'm going to have to toss it together.
The closest regionals are pretty far from where I am but all the talk of prizes made me wanna drive to Saskatoon.
Enjoying the 'cast. I like longer eps but that's my preference. Especially when the content is as good as it has been.
