So a new FAQ came out. It is available here. It changes a lot. With this the meta will be vastly different next month than it was last month, and while we can make educated guesses as to how things are going to shake out the truth is the only thing that's really going to tell us is play testing. Many cards were added to the restricted list yesterday.
Joust:
BEAR ISLAND
KINGS OF SUMMER
KINGS OF WINTER
GAME OF CYVASSE
BOLTON REFUGEE
MOUNTAIN REFUGEE
HIGHGARDEN REFUGEE
ISLAND REFUGEE
REFUGEE OF THE PLAINS
REFUGEE OF THE CITADEL
VALE REFUGEE
ROBERT BARATHEON (King's Landing)
AEGON'S HILL
KNIGHT OF FLOWERS (King's Landing)
THE HATCHLING'S FEAST
ORPHAN OF THE GREENBLOOD
RETALIATION
THE CONCLAVE
TIN LINK
MEERA REED
THE SCOURGE
NO QUARTER
PENTOSHI MANOR
THE LONG LANCES
Melee:
THE RED VIPER
HELLHOLT ENGINEER
THE SCOURGE
So by now, you're probably wondering, what wild and crazy thing is he going to tell us that's going to help us adapt to the new meta? Well, honestly, I'm not. I don't have a clue what's going to happen. Instead, I'm asking you all to help me, and help all of us here help one another.
So how can you help? Well, basically we need you to do 2 things. First, play. Play Game of Thones, test, try new things, go all out and see what works. Secondly, and this is the important part, tell us how it went for you. Talk about your games. Post blogs. Post in the forums, give us deck lists, tell us about plays that you made that went right or went wrong, tell us what other people in your meta are playing, tell us what decks you hate to sit down across the table from now, and what decks you sit down across the table from and go "Oh, that. Easy win." And tell us why you feel that way about those decks.
Now some of y'all are probably thinking, "He doesn't mean me, I'm just a casual player". Or "I'm not good enough to help people figure out what works". Or that "I haven't been playing long enough to help them out." None of that is true, honest reports will help no matter what your skill level, no matter how long you've been playing.
So as you start to experiment and adapt to the new meta let us know in the comments what you are experiencing.

Still I would've liked to see some mention of the upcoming change.
Seems Stark and Martell were on the hitlist. Current powerhouse Targ wasn't hurt much, Greyjoy escaped unscathed. Maesters were kicked squaw in the nuts. Lannister should be strong now.
And of course Bara was forgotten about, but should get a natural boost.
It's almost like these are changes that should have happened pre-Worlds/House of Pain.
However, I think that slots opening in other decks will mean that Paper Shield will make its way to most initial experiments of previous meta transitions.
The meta is quite harsh for House of Dreams, since they get hit with no Refugees on their setup.
My opinion is that solid decks that functioned without the absolute need of the cards restricted, will still be dominating. Greyjoy, seem to come out unharmed, but i still think that their best deck (Maesters) has suffered some hits.
What? So grey joy choke that uses fear of winter, refugees both island and vale and kings of winter was unscathed?
Also baras best deck at the minute the Assisi hand rape deck runs narrow escape, both high garden refugees and vale and knight of flowers ( and no these cannot be easily replaced because they need to make up for the HoD deficit)
On the hand they get a small boost as SnD will very unlikely see play now however the new epic event that steals any location will hurt it further.
side note restricting the refugees makes sense, they can add to a almost insurmountable set up when drawni in opening hand and were such auto includes that FFG probably felt the need to keep the meta fresh and unpredictable.
To give an example, I have had my refugees for exactly nine months... and now they are gone.
Far far more painful, however, is the restriction of Meera Reed. That plus Bear Island plus No Quarter... I don't get it. Is Stark dominating some meta somewhere? Because here in the Philippine Manila environment, it's not at all. Stark is my House of choice, but it feels weak by comparison. It's a House defined by two things, and one of them is a LACK.
1. Stark Kills
2. Stark Has No Intrigue
When it feels like 50% of your House definition is by something they DON'T have, that sets you back from the word go. Of course, Stark's intrigue has been increasing much lately... but only to the point where they are ALMOST able to match the other Intrigue-light Houses. That's pretty bad. And NOW two of their better kill cards are gone. Why?
So why restrict Meera? "Because every Stark Deck Runs Her" seems to be the only reason.
As for how it plays out, I will keep you informed. I know that there is much distress in the meta here, but we still love the game.
Refugees was the easy sacrificial lamb which was used easily by anyone for getting challenges through also. It was almost a no-brainer. Same was true for Meera/No Quarter. So it was a good call.
It was so much fun, because (almost) everyone got hurt from the new FAQS and was so upset with it to rebuild his deck completely. There was plenty of Lannisters and 50% of the people was playing no agenda. Nobody played maesters and I was the only Martell (playing KOTHH).
Apparently, the opinion s that maesters were hit hardest, followed by Stark and Martell. Targ KOTHH had to make a few changes but was still the most competitive, imo.
My friend Seriously won the night with his Lannister PBtT, he won 3 games and lost only 1 15-14 against Lannister No Agenda.
