Have been notified of an audio sync issue in the middle of the cast. Will double check later today as I have the opportunity.
Welcome to Sean was bored today and had a too much time to time on his hands. I usually keep a notepad going for things that were missed. Usually it is one or two points. Today not so much.

Stark- honestly from a Nedly perspective, White Harbor fits that Econ for loyalty more than Bear Island. The Manderlays have a ton of gold and are loyal to the Starks.

I got rolled by Patrick's Fat Cat in the Gencon melee knockout round, and now Edmure makes that deck even better. I think Tully rush finally has enough tech to be the premier rush deck in the game (sorry not sorry Tyrell). The only question is what agenda to run with it? Fealty for Econ, Crossing for Speed, Banner Rose for the events and Loras.

Tyrell -  I did actually appreciate the discussion on the Crown of Golden Roses because I was kinda meh about it at first glance, but I see the point. Also, Olenna's Cunning is a stupid good card out of Tyrell intrigue deck and Renly helps push that through as well.

NW - Between Night Gathers and, Yoren, and Take the Black NW is turning into a faction that will turn your opponent's characters against them more than ward (or a NW-Wolf that has nothing but high gold plots and runs all 4 of those cards). Also, the new ranger gets NW a bit closer to Watcher on the Walls being playable. And there are attachments that give icons, but NW can't use them. Downside of No Attachements but Weapons.

Bara - I remember that conversation about the core set. It was hard to tell where the spirited debate ended and the yelling at Aaron begins. I have a feeling that defines a lot of Aaron's life actually. Anyways, the deckbuilding issue I have with Bara is that there is a lot of kneel tech and a lot of dominace tech but not enough room for both. Visted by Shadows has the upshot of always sticking around since it is a free non-terminal attachement, but that is the only nice thing I can say about it. Maybe kneel X strenght worth of characters will be good. But right now it is bad.

I had to go to Agotcards to find the old reference.

Name:Recruiting Tent
Expansion set: A Flight of Dragons
Type:Location
Cost: 2
Affiliations(s): Baratheon
Trait(s): Westeros
Text:
Westeros
Marshalling: kneel to reveal the top card of your deck to all players. If that card is a character, put it into play. Otherwise, discard it.

Let us not reprint that. Kay?

Lanni - Harrenhall is stupid good. Once Valar comes in a lot more non-unique characters or 1x unique characters will pop into decks so that killing downside won't be that big a thing.

Greyjoy - Cost 3 cantrip is meh. 2 for 1 would make me care a bit more. Pillage theme is still meh. So meh all around.

Targ - I am having fun with Dothraki, and these cards are fun to play with. Being able to tutor for Rhakaro is huge, because that intimidate with the huge strength can be impactful as all get out. Dothraki summer can just crap out a lot of characters really quickly, so I think it might be one of the better decks for people who are scared of Valar to play because it can recover quickly from the board wipe.

BTW, I also took a Dothraki melee deck to the cut at Gencon. Good to hear someone else did well with that. It is a fun deck.

Also Will, this is an amazing set of gremlins you have with your audio recordings. It was two conversations going at once. I had a hard time understanding the Martell discussion. Martell gets more targeted kill events on bodies and more of their theme of winning by loosing. These look very good, not sure why everyone is meh.

Not much to add to the neutral discussion. Hot Pie is here, he is an auto include, and everyone hates him. But I can see why. Deckbuilding less interesting.

I will not be able to make it to Indy this weekend due to family existing. Sorry Luke. I'll get there eventually. I will try to get the Illinois guys to try and make it to Iowa in November (weather pending).

Sentry? Really?

Not just the Martell, the Greyjoy, Targ and Neutral. There are lots of pausese and then people talking over each other.

I feel the Targ cards are being underrated. I am with you (from what I could tell of the conversation...) on the Martell cards, the character is only a monocon and needs help with military. I tihnk in a lion deck it becomes very strong. Gregor makes everything easier...

Renly is better than Daenerys?

The idea behind Bear Island is that they are not wealthy people over there. The only thing house Mormont can offer to Stark is loyalty and loyalty is worth more than anything.

My apologies for the audio sync issues in the middle of the podcast earlier. This has been corrected and a new version posted.

Yes, Renly is better than Daenerys.

I think the Greyjoy king attachment is being woefully underestimated.  You slap this on Asha, Theon, or Balon and max out on Black Wind's Crew for more triggers, you have the potential to get some quick power.

But are those cards doing enough for you on their own? You're pretty much looking at getting a 3 card combo that way.

If you want a 1 cost attachment that does work, why not give Asha or Balon an intrigue icon and cut out needing to see the third card?

The important thing with that Greyjoy Crown is the lack of a limit. You stick that on a character in a Pillage deck and it's just going to, with no effort on your part, get you power at a frightening speed. Particularly hilarious in a mirror (or if multiple decks of the same style are at the same melee table), seeing as it doesn't seem to specify that you have to be doing the Pillaging.

The rest of what you guys said was basically on the money. I do want to stick up for Visited by Shadows though - other than changing the trait (ideally to weapon, though thematically that would make no sense at all) I don't know how they can have that effect be better without pushing it too much? It's 0-cost, it's non-terminal, it's non-unique so they can stack. It's also not that weird out of Baratheon - it synergises with Consolidation of Power as well as obviously the Priestess; it makes Intimidate better, which while not a Baratheon theme per se is still relevant because of Bob; it has the synergy you guys mentioned with King Stannis and the Kingswood to prevent power challenges from going through; and it has an obvious synergy with dominance. So while it is weak, and just to clarify I would not recommend playing this card (yet?), I don't think it's quite the inexplicably-bad binder fodder it was made out to be.

Oh, and Oxcross is clearly designed to be an anti-First Snow card (as well as being great with Castermere like Aaron mentioned) - it beats it on initiative and says that you cannot defend that first challenge that's declared, short of dupes or ambush.

Great episode again !  Just listened to it at work.

The new cards debate/rating is always entertaining and you always hit on a few things that can be done with them that get my deck building brain going !

Bailing for the Second sons at the end was lame (sorry guys, I like tSS's as well and listen to it but ......show the necessary respect to the horse that got you to the show)  just my opinion !

Danger Zone !

Lol, Wamma, let me know when you play Visited by Shadows in a deck out of actual application and not just spite. :P

Well I don't get to use the Baratheon cards in my household so that's neither here nor there :P. If I did though I'm guessing the answer would be "not for a while if ever" though.
