Uniquely Suited - Making the Best Unique Charac...

Dec 26 2013 06:25 AM | PulseGlazer in Game of Thrones

With all the discussion of A Game of Thrones’ flaws, I figured I’d chime in with my major pet peeve. This game is based on a property of books that is almost entirely character driven. As such, unique characters should rule the roost and be the best in the game. There’s three categories of characters that should be absolutely amazing, yet rarely are. They are the point of view characters, the major players of the game of thrones, and the great generals/warriors.

Beheading Ned - The Kingsguard

Dec 23 2013 06:15 PM | Sygmaghost94 in Game of Thrones

Hello readers new and old. We’re here with another great article of Beheading Ned! This week's question is a little bit more tricky. Name all of Eddard Stark's siblings. I will admit, I myself sometimes stray from the Nedly path for the sake of making these decks just a tad more competitive, but that’s what sets me apart from former writers. Nedly decks that can do well in a tournament, this is my goal.

With that being said, I am proud to say that this weeks' deck is possibly the most competitive and Nedly deck I’ve made to date! Get excited with me readers; you’re in for a treat. This time around we’ll look at the new Kingsguard!

Scheming on the Sands - Rank and File

Dec 20 2013 06:10 AM | PulseGlazer in Game of Thrones

This was going to be a look at the new Martell agenda and building a deck for it (that article is actually written, mind you), but since that is apparently not this pack, that article will have to wait. Instead, let’s rank some cards. Since people complain about the last two cycles, A Song of the Sea and Kingsroad, let’s rank and tier the cards from them.

All Things Shagga - Port at Slaver's Bay

Dec 18 2013 06:15 PM | Kennon in Game of Thrones

Once again, we’re here with your bi-weekly dose of Shagga goodness. This week we turn our attention back again to that old Valyrian house of conquerors, House Targaryen. In fact, this deck was inspired by a conversation not long ago with Pulseglazer, who was working on his Fire and Blood article at the time. He asked for a few suggestions on which attachments I thought were worth playing out of house with Port at Slaver’s Bay. During the conversation, I also let slip that I was still trying to decide on a solid direction for our next article here and Pulseglazer suggested that I follow up his article with a deck using out of house attachments. Frankly, I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t already considered it and the timing sounded perfect, so here we are. I think you’ll note that we made a few different choices on which attachments were worth using out of house, so I’ll take a little time to discuss these choices as we go.

First Tilt - The Best Kingsguard Money Can Buy

Dec 17 2013 06:05 AM | Paladin in Game of Thrones

One of the most common questions new players ask when they first enter the exciting world of the AGoT LCG is “what should I buy next?” The most common answer has been, and remains, that they should buy the house expansions for their preferred houses. Particularly for players who have a preferred house or houses, the house expansions provide the biggest, most efficient boost to deck building options that a player can have.
And once the desired house expansions are purchased, what comes after that? I think two recent releases are great buys for new players.
