Game of Thrones
Wars are Won with Quills - Tier Analysis

When people discuss different decks in Game of Thrones they invariably wind up discussing tier rankings. But what exactly does it mean to say that a deck is Tier 1, or Tier 1.5, or Tier 2? Do we base this solely upon tournament results, or is there some element of objective measure we could use to determine what makes a deck fall into these tiers? I’m of the opinion that we can get a pretty good read on where a deck fits in by ranking their capabilities in three key areas of AGoT -- Power Rush, Draw, and Control.

House of Dreams (ARotD) caused quite a stir initially. Many Thrones players levied accusations of power-creep, made calls for immediate restriction, and voted it “five stars†without question. Let’s take a look at how the controversial agenda pairs with Tunnels of the Red Keep (CoS) almost a year later.

Ours is the Fury - Against the Stream

It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to write an Ours is The Fury article, mainly due to all things unrelated to AGoT. However, the more I thought about it, the more I came to the conclusion that there was another reason to all of this. One that’s very much in the heart of this article’s subject matter, right at the furry core of the Stag. That past CP Cycle brought a load of really good cards for Baratheon, and by the looks of it, the following Cycle is only continuing from where the previous one left off. So, in a way, it’s a good time to be playing Baratheon. At least, so it would seem on the surface.
However, there’s a small issue with that, a looming cloud on the horizon, if you will. Despite the new cards we’re getting, Baratheon hasn’t really moved upwards in competitiveness a single notch. This has made me wonder a bit, and I believe that a part of the puzzle came to me when looking at some of the results Kennon posted from GenCon.

Some call it madness and I admit it, its a long shot, but I am consumed by a quest to make a deck using a treaty agenda work. I don't want it to only muddle through though, I want it to actually compete. A fools errand? Oh, perhaps, but I’ll turn some heads while doing it.

All Things Shagga - Evolution of Martell Choke

in Game of Thrones
Here we are again with another thrilling installment of All Things Shagga! Ok, so thrilling is probably a bit of a relative statement to most folks, but I certainly think so. Well, ok, maybe not so thrilling for us Shaggas, as that generally derives from a fresh, new idea, but this week instead we’re going to look at an evolution of the Martell choke build from last column. Perhaps we should settle for enlightening then, rather than thrilling.
