Beyond the Wall Podcast Nate French Istaril Darknoj 10 year anniversary
Click here for the podcast. This one runs long, but I'm quite certain you'll forgive us. We have our usual intro & news, of course, a little bit of a report from Istaril's SC, and a Tip of the Week - but does any of that really matter? To celebrate his 10 year anniversary working at Fantasy Flight Games, Nate French joins us for a retrospective. We take a look at how his experiences over the years have shaped A Game of Thrones, the only game that matters.

Errata:
-We didn't know at the time we recorded, but NW/Lion (a version of what Dan S. built on the cast with us last week) topped the Swiss at Winds of Winter (30 people)!
-I feel I didn't do enough to acknowledge Guillaume B., the winner of the Quebec SC, who recovered from a loss to me in the swiss to a confident victory in the finals.
-Ooo, more errata. It turns out that 16 *doesn't* let me play a 4 round swiss top 4. That's 17 (which should be 5 rounds, damnit). So not only did I break the rules, I lied about it on the cast

Some quick Errata:
1) We didn't know at the time we recorded, but NW/Lion (a version of what Dan S. built on the cast with us last week) topped the Swiss, in his hands, at Winds of Winter!
2) I feel I didn't do enough to acknowledge Guillaume B., the winner of the Quebec SC, who recovered from a loss to me in the swiss to a confident victory in the finals.
Enjoyed the interview immensely, was great to hear that inside perspective. Great job gentlemen!
And Valar...oh my.
Great job, boys!

.
Is a 16-person tournament not meant to have no cut at all? Naughty Istaril...
Hrmph, looks like Drakey used "not the comments section" to get the drop on me...
No need to thank me for letting you know!
We're all naughty around here. We do 6 rounds for 40 players and top 8 for 32. We don't lie about it, though
Probably one of my favourite casts you guys have done to date. Nate's insight into the industry was fascinating. Also poker correlations were pretty apt I must say. Valar!!
FINALLY that Nate interview we've been promised forever. Great interview guys! So much insight into the development of the different games was very cool.
