Beyond the Wall Podcast Istaril Darknoj Uncles Games Asmodee North America
We're not quite ready to bring you Season 3 yet, but the backlog of news was just too much - time for an episode! First, a truckload of news since we went on break; news about the books, news about the community, news from FFG. Never ones to let a lack of facts get in the way of a good story, we go into some speculation about the regionals season. Then, we're joined by Patrick D., a store owner, to try to understand the new FFG/Asmodee North America restructring and distribution model. It's not strictly Thrones, but it's a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of the industry that brings us Thrones, and we do manage to boil it down to how it'll affect us, the players. We squeeze in a Tip of the Week, and then sound off with our usual closing comments.

Really nice episode, as expected. I am a bit sad that we did not get any additional spoilers for the upcoming chapterpack, but that is of course not your fault. I am just realy interested what the remaining 2 cards in that chapterpack are
Would it pain you to know we were offered spoilers for Road to Winterfell? We turned them down as we'd be on hiatus, probably until the pack came out... and it'd make the job of picking spoilers to send out, after the big Czech/Slovak distributor leaks, easier for the employee in question.
Still, I think having a few unknowns going into opening the pack is a good thing.
I would consider it a good thing too if I could open the pack like right now...^^
Great to hear Patrick on the cast. I have said it before and I'll say it again. Its refreshing to see a store who caters so much to the games we love to play instead of just the MTG crowd. Looking Forward to ETX 2016. If you can find a way to get to Tacoma I highly recommend you come out.
On a side note, I guess Jim will be playing Patrick in the swiss rounds of our next tourney. All Hail Jim the Podcast guest slayer!
Great episode! There really is a lot going on in the community, and it's great to see how revitalized everyone is after the reboot. It's working!
It will be interesting to see how this Asmodee deal affects the online retailers like minimarket and coolstuffinc and in turn how that affects the bottom line. I can say there are FFG products I consider only because I can get them for a reasonable price online. I do most of my shopping from local retailers, but some of the more expensive games or games with a billion expansions that I'm behind on get relegated to discounted online purchase.
I enjoyed this episode, it was really good, even for a prequel. Thanks, gentlemen.
