Last time in much and more I talked about Rush, and how rush is now a thing. Since that time, at least 2 American regional tournaments have been won by decks that self identify as rush. And while I'd really love to say "and those two decks were as different as could be" the truth is, they had the same agenda. The Long Voyage. Other than that, however, those two decks were as different as can be. (Come on, you saw that coming.)

Here we go again with another exciting week of Shagga deck analysis. This time, we’re going cast our gaze at a deck with a decidedly more Jaime tint than usual. The most successful “combo†style deck that I’ve seen so far is almost certainly the Stark Seige rush decks. Of course, I didn’t think of it that way at first, but a Magic player who dabbled in AGOT a couple years ago pointed out that it’s really the sort of deck that wants to full playsets of any key cards and get to them as quickly as possible in order to set up a win without the opponent being able to interact (thanks to Fear of Winter). It wasn’t until sometime later when I really started to delve into the theory behind decktypes and such that I realized this means it’s really a combo deck, and this quite Shagga!
