The John Voyage

Apr 09 2013 06:00 PM | mathlete in Game of Thrones

After winning the Joust Worlds in November it was great to be considered a good player, but even cooler to be considered a decent deck architect and have people compliment a deck that I built without netdecking. After Worlds, people (like Tiny Grimes) challenged me to do something different. I told people that I would play one of the two houses that I had played very little since my return to the game, Baratheon or Lannister. Since the general belief that Baratheon is the bottom house, and The Long Voyage sucks as an Agenda, it seemed like the perfect combination to try for my first competition of Regional season.

The Long Voyage

Apr 05 2013 04:05 PM | istaril in Game of Thrones

In Martin's books, a long sea voyage is invariably a bad idea. Poor Rodrik Cassel lost his prized whiskers to his trip, and even the seaworthy Iron Fleet can't seem to make it across the Narrow Sea without taking massive losses...

This new agenda has resulted in a fair bit of discussion. People are re-examining the reasons to keep decks small, and the cost of decks above 60 cards – and if a card causes people to at least challenge their preconceptions, I'd say it's a win from a design stand point. But is it playable?

Scheming on the Sands - Events

Apr 05 2013 05:10 AM | mnBroncos in Game of Thrones

Welcome back to Scheming on the Sands, I am going to go over the cards that makes Martell so fun and powerful to play with, and the reason why Martell was the first house I really played with and still enjoying playing the most with, the powerful events. Other houses have great events but to me that is what Martell is its the house of events.

Beheading Ned - R + L = J?

Apr 03 2013 05:05 AM | OKTarg in Game of Thrones

I have received some very positive feedback about the series of articles that have gone up in the past few weeks, in which we have discussed the various iterations of unique characters in the LCG and which of them is the most "Nedly." So, of course, we are going to do something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT this week!

Ours is the Fury - Calling the Banners

Apr 01 2013 05:05 AM | WWDrakey in Game of Thrones

This week in Ours is the Fury we're doing something a bit different again. We're starting off a string of 'Bannerman' spots, for which anybody can apply to talk about all things Baratheon. We're kicking this idea off by having Paimen talk about Baratheon Shadows, something he ran in our local League pretty succesfully

Rise of the Kraken - It's Miller Time

Mar 29 2013 05:15 PM | JCWamma in Game of Thrones

Hello, and welcome bizzack to Rise of the Kraken.

There are two hot new agendas on the scene right now, one of which we'll be hopefully looking at in the future. Black Sails (RotK) is the subject of this particular article, for a very specific reason. It makes a Greyjoy build that everyone wants to make work but nobody can operate a lot more viable. Intrigued to find out why, and how? Read on!
