Welcome to another edition of Forging the Chain. This week I am going to discuss one of the most annoying aspects of the game, the dreaded rules blowout. Nothing is worse than having a plan cooked up that is destroyed not by the superior play of your opponent, but by your own lack of knowledge of a rule. What makes this worse is that this will be a common occurrence throughout your first hundred games or so. Moreover, even after you have quite a bit of experience with the game some rule will still jump up and bite you when you least expect it.

This week, I thought I’d kick off a new cycle of articles here for All Things Shagga. We’ve explored a few different types of articles aside from the deckbuilding article, but this will be a new endeavor for me. For the next few weeks, All Things Shagga will be reviewing the top Shagga cards from the history of the LCG. I’ll be taking a look at cards in chapter pack cycle chunks, and looking at the Top 5 (in no particular order) Shagga cards for each cycle. We might spark some new ideas here, or we might not, but at least we’ll be looking for shiny things!

Rhoynar Emissary has been causing a stir in the community about its relative usefulness. To combat the challenge phase shenanigans every deck should be running a decent spread of icons and players should understand the order of challenges. These are basic rules for every deck.
