We finally did it! We brought our podcast down to it's intended length. Almost. So close. After introducing our week's news - mostly the Stahleck debacle and some Thrones we've played, Darknoj abandons me for sunnier pastures. I bring on the reinforcements, Dave S. (Vaapad) and Dan S. (Twn2dn) to turn our 2.0 'tip of the week' into a full segment: Tactical mistakes new players make. We break down common play mistakes by phase. Try as we might, we can't seem to run on time anymore... and I swear we're not padding. We start out with news, as usual, and then jump into discussing the new (1st edition) FAQ for Worlds, with the help of Jakob "Giant Underwear" H. Then we bring on DaveDave to chat about his pet topic: Tournament format, and he convinces us of a better way to do them. As promised, we manage another short Tip-of-the-Week for new players, and follow it up with Raul (r480) to bring you 2 exclusive spoilers from the first 2.0 CP. New players often ask me for tips on how to build a Game of Thrones decks. There are, of course, many perspectives on the most important aspects of deck building. Frequent online advice address amount and type of card advantage, removal, and number of characters for a given deck archetype. More specific or advanced advice may guide players to consider metagame trends. However, one of the most challenging aspects of deck building for new players, and an aspect that continues to perplex many players as they gain experience, is crafting a deck’s overall cost curve.

In this week's episode, we run long yet again. I blame the fact that the cores are out, and news along with it - including some rumblings about the FAQ. We then invite "The Fitch that Wins" as we re-record a segment on creating a new meta we did with her way back, that was unfortunately lost to the abyss. It's not as good as the mythical lost segment, but it's still great. Antti "wwdrakey" then joins us for a fun little retrospective on 1.0, where all three of us go through our "10 best decks of the LCG". In our Town Crier segment, we promote Thronestroberfest - and settle on Lauren's new nickname. Finally we close off with our usual tournament round up.
