I've played a few games with Martell Banner of the Lion now and I must say I really like them. Funnily enough the mvp most often has been a card that I almost overlooked at first. Maester Caleotte is far, far better than I gave him credit for at first.

So this is much harder than stare wars because I don't remember every card perfectly but I can give a high breakdown.

Main Martel
3x viper and arinne and camel (resource), and card draw girl
2x to 1x of everything else (everyone Dwayne knight).. Mostly 2x character... 1x items like dawn.. 2x doran game and that 4 strength icon stripper, and unbent

Banner tyrel
2x of non loyal... Marg , flowers, randyl, house tarly sword, bear maiden fair, 2x gardener(resource) ..a few more But those are the big ones

Nuetral
2x seal of king, event cancel, roseroad

Plots.. Let's see my memory
Wildfire
Game of thrones
Confiscating
Heads in spikes
Calm over westeros
Filty accusations
Lords and ladies 2 cheaper

Its quite funny, I run the exact opposite in a more aggro shell. But I am interested to try out the setup like you propose. I am in love with Dornish Paramour and Confinement combined with Olenna's informant and Word of Winter is also a sick combo, shutting off a strong blocker and then strike twice while doing double claim.

Dornish Paramour with Syrios skills can also ruin someone's day.

I was happy that my Lordsport Shipwright had kept GG knelt the whole game, that was kinda nice. I thought I was on to a winner. :(

I had an epiphany, what is the main strength of Martell? Well that's easy, the late game. But how to get there thats the main question. What if you were to play the following plots:

 

-Wildfire x2

-Calm over Westeros

-A Game of Thrones

-Marching to the Wall

-A Noble Cause

-Rebuilding

 

Then play three copies of Varys, three copies of Tears, three copies of Milk of the Poppy and probably two Iron Throne locations. Then add a mix of Martell cards with at least three copies of Ghaston Grey.

 

The plots are meant to always have a say over when challenges are happening as you can either Wildfire them or reduce their clam value and against decks like Greyjoy playing Confinement on their only Intrigue character while under influence of the 'A Game of Thrones' plot is just gravy. With three copies of Varys you are most likely to be able to control the board to some extent. Then having the Red Vyper force a big challenge through and having either 'Dorans Game' or 'Superior Claim' will ensure a powerful swing in momentum. 

 

Of course this won't always be the case but I think that a strategy like this can very well work. What do you guys think?

Your plot setup is very similar to mine. One to possibly consider is Jousting Contest (which is mean with Paramour!).

No Tears of Lys? Martell can win intrigue fairly easily compared to most.

Confinement is a 3x card also.

I have never played with the deck as I don't have time to play OCTGN (or to learn how to use the program, as I have never used it) but I will test it this week in real life.

I think that the three copies of Varys combined with the Wildfires are integral to getting to a point where Dawn and Doran's Game can become killers. I changed out the Rebuilding for the Jousting Contest, but I can see them going either way, the only thing holding the Rebuilding back for me is the fact that the drawing ability of the deck is quite meager so I don't know how much I can use the 'extra cards'.

How would that even work? I always thought that the game only lasted seven turns? Can someone give a rulebook reference?

I'm not 100% sure where it is in the rulebook, but the way it works is that once you reveal your last plot and trigger it's effect, the other 6 plots from before go back into your plot deck. You now have no plots in your used pile and play continues as normal.

I've won many games with martell at plot 8-9 you just have to get to around 12 by 7

Quentyn was bold and impulsive at literally the worst possible moment. He is part of one of my favorite quotes though.
